For the seventh straight season, the Kansas City Chiefs will take the field for the AFC Championship game on Sunday.
And with this one, they once again have the upper-hand with home-field advantage.
But, this game could be more emotional than ever before. And that's because people are unsure if this will be Travis Kelce's final game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Everybody wants to know, and because of that they are looking towards his teammates to find out. So, has Patrick Mahomes heard any rumors?
"I have no idea. He hasn't said anything to me if he's thinking that," the quarterback said on 96.5 The Fan. "So, I know he signed the two-year extension before the season and then he seems like he still loves football, but he also has a great life as well.
"Either way, I just appreciate every single time I step on the field with that guy, knowing that he's a true legend of, not only the Chiefs, but of the NFL. If it's his last game, let's go out there and get him a win. If it's not his last game, let's go out and win anyways."
The two have been teammates since 2017 and have created an unbreakable bond that extends off the field. So when it comes to talking about Kelce, Mahomes always stands behind his tight end.
"He's all about competition and being the greatest that he can possibly be for the guys around him. And he truly appreciates the moment, and you only get a certain amount of moments in your lifetime and in your career, and he's going to go out there and maximize those," Mahomes explained. "And it seems like when we get to these big moments, on the biggest stages, he goes out there and plays his best football. That's what you always see from the greats in every single sport and profession, and he's on of those."
Let's hope this isn't the last time we're seeing Mahomes and Kelce together on the field at Arrowhead Stadium.
