New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette shockingly reveals a few players who have emerged as leaders within the organization, and who could very well become the Rangers next captain.
Since the New York Rangers traded their most recent captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks back on Dec. 6 for defensemen Urho Vaakanainen and a draft pick, the team has been without a captain.
Ever since the Trouba trade, many have been questioning who will become the next captain of the New York Rangers. Along with that, many believe it should be a veteran players such as Chris Kreider or Vincent Trocheck.
However, during a recent press conference, head coach Peter Laviolette spoke out on who has emerged as leaders within the organization and named two players who could fill that spot, one being a complete shocker.
Veteran forward Vincent Trocheck being named as a potential candidate makes the most sense as he has proven to be a great leader on and off the ice.
But with Ryan Lindgren being named is a complete shocker, considering all the recent trade speculation surrounding his name and recent decline in his performance over the last two seasons.
