Porsha Williams Is Taking a Break From Dating After Her Divorce

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams has decided to put her dating life on pause after her contentious divorce from Simon Guobadia. Williams got emotional when speaking about her love life, telling People, “It’s lonely. I can’t connect with other men.”

Williams and Guobadia’s divorce was finalized on June 11, 2025, but Williams filed the papers back in February of 2024. Since then, she has not been ready for another relationship, despite friends trying to set her up. “You would think I’m dating already and stuff, right?” she said. “People try to introduce me. But it’s just… when it’s not the same, it’s not the same.”

Williams Considered Herself a ‘People Pleaser’

In the wake of her very difficult divorce, Williams has been reflecting on her past relationships and how they once defined her sense of self. “I used to be a people pleaser,” she explained. “I used to only see myself through men’s eyes …”

The reality star also revealed that once she became a cast member on “The Real Housewives,” she began to view herself through the eyes of the audience. “I only saw myself through what the fans would say in the comments,” Williams shared. “I was like a walking culmination of what the comments thought.”

But that has since changed. “… now, I could give zero you-know-whats. I’m my own person. I took charge of my life, financially, in my relationships — everything,” Williams said, adding that while she is more confident now, her breakup with Guobadia was jarring.

A Healthier Way Forward

Now that Williams’ divorce is behind her, she is looking for healthier ways to move forward. And for the “RHOA” star, that means focusing on herself. “I’m going to do it different this time,” she shared. “I’m going to be alone until I’m whole.”

Williams, who co-parents her six-year-old daughter, Pilar Jhena, with ex-boyfriend Dennis McKinley, is making yet another positive change in her life. She is facing her new situation without the help of any vices.

“I can’t just drink it away like I have in my past,” Williams explained. “It’s a rough road, healing this way … But it’s needed.” And while she is not looking to rush into a relationship anytime soon, she is keeping her options open when it comes to who she dates in the future.

“I was sitting there, I was like, ‘Do I like women enough? Can I get with a woman?” Williams wondered, clearly having had her share of tough times with men. But for now, she has one major focus: “I’ve got to put one foot in front of the other, try to cover my heart, keep it as soft as I can …”
