Meanwhile Porsha also drew comparisons between her current situation and her 2013 divorce from former NFL star Kordell Stewart which played out during RHOA Season 6.
She further described the potential new home as a "plan B," attributing her mounting anxiety to an upcoming court date with Simon. "With my first marriage … I didn't even go to court. I was like, I'm just gonna walk away with nothing," she said.
"My first divorce was difficult because it was old school, and I wanted to be submissive and I gave everything up to be [a] wife," Porsha continued. "So when everything hit the fan and it ended, I did not have any kind of plan for my future. And so I was kind of left out in the cold."
When it came to her more recent marriage to Simon, however, "I handled business and I lined everything up so that I wouldn’t be in that same position," Porsha added.
Porsha Williams sheds new light on preparing to move amid Simon divorce
On The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show, Porsha opened up more about the legal reasons behind her house-hunting adventure in RHOA's May 25 episode.
When newly returned castmate Phaedra Parks asked if she was going to remain in her "fabulous" current home since she was "getting rid of" her estranged husband, Porsha explained to her and Brit Eady that her relocation decision actually hinged on whether or not a judge decides "to enforce the prenup" between her and Simon.
"When we were going through everything at the time, I didn't really know where the chips may fall," she admitted, claiming that the prenup afforded her the "option to keep" their family home. If the ruling didn't go in her favor, however, Porsha said she would "go on, move, buy another home," and Simon would keep the house.
Elaborating that she was house hunting to help "prepare" both her and Pilar for either scenario, she added, "I just was kind of trying to see what's out there to kind of calm my anxiety. … I wanted to make the transition as easy as possible."
Did Porsha Williams buy a new house?
Not yet, as Porsha and Simon's divorce case is still pending in the courts. However, she told Phaedra on the After Show that she found a home that she "really liked," revealing, "Actually, even to this day, it's still available."
In the meantime, Porsha plans to make some changes to her current home. "There [are] some things that I want to do to the house," she with BravoTV.com in March. "Just change up the energy and kind of revive it and there are some things I want to do in separate rooms."
