Raiders 2023 draft class Week 12 watch: Tyree Wilson makes presence felt

Let’s look at how the Las Vegas Raiders 2023 draft class fared 29-19 Week 12 home loss to the Denver Broncos and what to expect in a Week 13 road game at the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Kickoff is set for noon.

An inside look at Content Day with the Raiders' 2023 draft class

Seven of the nine players from the draft class are currently in the program. The Raiders cut third-round pick Byron Young and he was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles. He was inactive in Week 1. Seventh-round pick, defensive tackle Nesta Jade Silvera was cut in Week 7 and is now on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad.

Tyree Wilson:

The No. 7 overall draft pick had a sack for the second straight game and he blew up a jet-sweep play. He’s coming along. Consistency is the key. Let’s see if happen again in Kansas City.

Michael Mayer:

Mayer played 44 percent of the snaps in his second game back after missing six games for personal reasons. He had two catches for 11 yards,

Tre Tucker:

The speedy third-round pick had 7 catches (on eight targets) for 82 yards. He needs to keep that up. There have been too many games where he makes no impact,

Jakorian Bennett:

The fourth-round pick missed the Denver game because of a shoulder injury he suffered on the second play of the Week 11 Miami game. The Raiders miss him.

Aidan O’Connell:

The fourth-round pick broke his thumb in the first quarter in Week 7 and will reportedly miss 4-6 weeks while he is on the injured reserve. He is eligible to return against Kansas City.

Chris Smith:

The fifth-round safety from Georgia played 20 snaps on special teams at Miami.

Amari Burney:

The sixth-round pick played one snap at linebacker and a season-high 29 snaps on special teams in Week 11.

Conclusion:

If Wilson and Tucker can continue to produce that will be a excellent development,
