Raiders Expected to be Sellers Ahead of the Trade Deadline

The Raiders' Super Bowl hopes are dead and that means they are likely to stack draft picks before the trade deadline.

The Raiders are 2-6 through eight weeks of the NFL season, so they don't have the best chance to contend for anything other than a top pick.

With this harsh reality setting in, it's time for the Raiders' front office to start making some business decisions.

That means the team will likely move a few more pieces ahead of the trade deadline and stack draft picks for the 2025 NFL draft. While the team has already moved on from Davante Adams, there are a few more players that other teams could desire.

Some of the main players that the Raiders could get decent hauls for were named by Dan Graziano of ESPN. Those players are receiver Jakobi Meyers, offensive lineman Cody Whitehair and defensive tackle John Jenkins.

In the wake of the Adams trade, Meyers was propelled to the No. 1 receiver role and really showed that he can still be productive in Week 8. Meyers had six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs, which is a good showing if the Raiders are looking to move him.

As for Whitehair he's been a serviceable guard on a Raiders offensive unit that can't find an identity or move the ball. If the Raiders are able to get at least one pick for him, it would make sense for all parties involved to move on from Whitehair.

Then there's Jenkins, who's in year 12 and has played in all eight games for the Raiders this season. The journeyman has 22 total tackles and half a sack up to this point in the season. While he isn't lighting up the stat sheet, he clearly has staying power in the league. Jenkins could provide depth and rotational value to a Super Bowl-hopeful team, should they be willing to pay what the Raiders are asking.
