Rangers send down rookie forward Brett Berard to Hartford Wolf Pack

After a very successful first stint with the Rangers, rookie forward Brett Berard was sent back down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League on Friday.

However, head coach Peter Laviolette had a ton of positive things to say about Berard, but indicated that he would remain in the American Hockey League with that Wolf Pack to further develop.

"I think it's all a learning process, it's all part of the development of a young player. From what we were just talking about with the uncertainty of how your roster moves sometimes day-to-day with regard to injuries, sometimes there's openings and sometimes there's not.

"I think talking about young players, you always want to be mindful of their development, to keep them developing, to keep them in the mix so that they're playing and they continue to develop. So he's gone back down after a good, solid stint with us to continue to develop."

The 22-year-old forward has managed to tally three goals and four assists for a total of seven points in just 19 games with the New York Rangers while averaging 11:20 minutes of ice time.

Berard has showed a ton of promise, through his time in New York was short. It should only be a matter of time before he is back with the Rangers.
