“Rather Be Single Than Settle”: Love Is Blind’s Natalie Lee Opens Up About Freezing Her Eggs and Embracing Self-Worth

Love Is Blind alum Natalie Lee is breaking down her decision to freeze her eggs.

“Freezing my eggs at 33 was hands down the best decision I’ve made,” Natalie, 33, wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 20. “Last year, I started to get anxious about my future fertility. I decided to freeze my eggs with @ovaeggfreezing. … Although the two weeks of injections was tough for me as someone who is scared of needles, I can’t explain the relief I felt after completing my first egg freezing cycle. I could finally stop panicking about the future and enjoy my life again.”

She added, “Egg freezing isn’t a guarantee, but it’s given me better odds for a successful future pregnancy. I’m not ready for motherhood now, but I hope to be someday, and this gives me a little more time and choice.”

Natalie uploaded a video of the injection process, which she set to Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.”

“POV: You freeze your eggs in your 30s because you’d rather be single than settle with the wrong person,” she captioned her post.

In the Instagram comments section, Natalie further explained the logistics of the process.

“My insurance covered some stuff, but I will do a full breakdown for mine,” she added. “Cost varies.”

Natalie was previously engaged to Shayne Jansen on season 2 of Love Is Blind, which aired in 2022. She called off their engagement at the altar.

“We dated after filming the original [season] … for several months,” Natalie exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2022. “There definitely was some on and off. You know, a lot of feelings were there, especially after we saw the Love Is Blind episodes and seeing that love story play out. That brought a lot of emotions and so we did have some talks like, you know, ‘Did we lose something that was, like, special at that point?’”

According to Natalie, she broke up with Shayne, now 36, for good after allegedly discovering DMs he sent to other women. (The real estate agent, who last dated The Trust alum Julie Theis in 2024, never publicly addressed Natalie’s claims.)

“I think everything that happened in that situation just with those and just kind of how that situation played out for us was definitely what really caused me to leave that relationship,” she added to Us.

After Love Is Blind, Natalie bonded with Bachelor Nation alum Blake Moynes.

“Blake and I have a marriage pact,” Natalie said on an April 2024 episode of her and Deepti Vempati’s “Out of the Pods” podcast. “So, if I am not married by age 35, we said that we would have kids and get married. … You are one of my favorite people. … I feel like the reason why I was so drawn to you is because we share the same sense of humor, like, I’m very self-deprecating [and] you can take it.”

Natalie and Blake, 34, briefly dated when they went on a joint animal conservation trip in July 2022, but their fling fizzled out when they returned to their respective homes in Chicago and Canada.
