Remaining free agents still offer intriguing upside to address key areas and make a real impact on the Packers' roster in 2025

The Green Bay Packers made two big moves on Monday, agreeing to sign guard Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs. On Tuesday and Wednesday, though, no new moves. And that's been pretty much Brian Gutekunst's modus operandi as a general manager.

Remaining free agents still offer intriguing upside to address key areas and make a real impact on the Packers' roster in 2025

In free agency, he goes big or goes home. After the first wave, he waits for the mid-level class to sign, and then might make some more moves for something close to the minimum.

But even after three days of free agency, there are still really good options available. Not stars, but contributors who could have real impact in areas of need for Green Bay.

Edge rushers

This is the main position where the Packers were expected to add pieces and didn't. Their potential targets are already off the board with Dayo Odeyingbo going to the Chicago Bears and Chase Young staying in New Orleans. Trey Hendrickson via trade is out of their way of doing business, so the options are limited.

Charles Omenihu is the best fit for what they tend to look for. But if the price is right, players like Azeez Ojulari or Dante Fowler could be added. Za'Darius Smith would be intriguing, but his relationship with the leaders on the Packers make a reunion very unlikely.

Wide receivers

The WR Market wasn't strong to begin with, but there are several older players who can still have something left in the tank. Cooper Kupp has been released by the Los Angeles Rams, and the Packers are reportedly in the mix.

Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs, and Keenan Allen are the other names to watch at the position. Finding younger players is harder, and the best one available is Elijah Moore. The problem is that he's a slot receiver, and Green Bay would benefit more from adding an outside weapon.

Interior defensive linemen

From the list we had on Day 2, Levi Onwuzurike is the only one who's been signed, returning to the Detroit Lions. Calais Campbell is probably the best player, but at 39 it's hard to see the Packers making a move. Other than that, the situation is rough.

There are some younger players like Raekwon Davis, Jerry Tillery, or Benito Jones, but in this case the better path is probably just to roll with the guys the Packers already have.

Other players

The Packers have already attacked the cornerback and guard positions, but there are some intriguing options left if they want to do more.

At corner, Asante Samuel is small, but a talented player, and Rasul Douglas could be a useful piece in spite of having shown signs of regression last year.

At guard, the options are really good. Teven Jenkins and Mekhi Becton are two young players with a lot of raw talent and recent track record of good football. Aaron Banks will be the starter moving forward, but if Gutekunst wants more depth, they are alternatives.

The final option is a developmental tackle in Jedrick Wills, a former first-round pick who hasn't lived up to his pre-draft stock but is still young enough to generate hope.
