It looks like Dr. Heavenly Kimes isn’t the only Bravolebrity with political aspirations. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks just expressed her interest in jumping into the world of politics. She’s already a mortician, a lawyer, and a reality star. Why not add politician to her ever-expanding resume?
Phaedra recently appeared on an episode of The View, which is where she detailed her interest in politics. She told the hosts that she had an excitement about the government long before she became a Bravolebrity. Specifically, she wanted to be an insurance commissioner.
“My favorite thing is politics. I always thought I was going to be the insurance commissioner because Geico put me through undergrad and law school. So, I just knew I was going to be the insurance commissioner,” she explained.
Of course, that didn’t quite pan out, but she’s still very much invested in politics. She told the ladies of The View that she still felt the calling to serve in public office.
“Obviously, [being an insurance commissioner] didn’t happen. But I love politics. That’s why I love this show. And when you see stuff like the Big Beautiful Bill and Medicaid and all these things that affect the most vulnerable in our society being passed, I feel like I almost have a duty at some point to, you know, seek office,” Phaedra explained.
The topic came up again in a separate interview with Page Six, and the RHOA star said she has already spent “decades” in the political fundraising world. She told the outlet that she would “definitely” consider running for office. Whether that’s a mayoral race, a school board, or the president of the United States, we know Phaedra could handle it. Perhaps she can ask her former Married to Medicine co-star for some advice on launching the campaign.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
