Sutton Stracke is no longer working with assistant Avi Gabay.
While appearing on Jeff Lewis‘ radio show on Tuesday, the 53-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star confirmed that she and Avi parted ways, but she wouldn’t share much in terms of who left whom, or why.
“Avi is no longer working with me,” Sutton told Jeff, 55, on the May 6 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “Now, we’re still friends. I love Avi. He’s like family. But no, he’s no longer working with me.”
Although Jeff wanted to know what happened between them, all Sutton would say was that things had “evolved.”
“Everything was working out. It’s just, you know, things evolve,” she described. “I’ve been really busy. I’ve been traveling in the past couple of months, so we haven’t really spoken … I’m about to just live by myself in my house, so things have just, just evolved, and it’s different now.”
After Jeff wondered if Avi had left to pursue other options or if Sutton had simply let him go because she didn’t have much work for him any longer, Sutton again explained, “Things have evolved,” and she added that Avi had always been “an independent contractor.”
At that point, Jeff asked, point blank, “Did you fire him or did he quit?”
“We parted ways,” Sutton replied.
Then, when questioned about whether or not it was “mutual,” Sutton admitted, “I’m not sure.”
“You’d have to ask Avi,” she stated.
Avi’s departure comes just over a year after Sutton shared a post on Instagram in which she told her fans and followers that she couldn’t imagine living without him and Garcelle Beauvais, 58, whom she is currently estranged from.
“I love these two people. We work together, we play together, we share stories from our lives. I can’t imagine not having them in my life. Cheers to friendship and happy Friday!” she wrote in the caption of a group photo in January 2024.
Following the news of Avi’s exit, Bravo Housewives on Instagram noted that Avi’s bio, which once read, “Executive Property Manager for Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Sutton Stracke,” was changed to “Executive Property Manager.” And after their post was shared, a number of fans reacted with claims of Sutton’s poor treatment of Avi.
“She treated him terribly,” one person wrote as another called for “justice for Avi.”
“He suffered enough..!!” someone else proclaimed.
“She treated him poorly and was rude often, and that’s the tiny snippets we saw on the show. I’m surprised he lasted this long,” wrote another IG user.
Then, as Sutton was accused of treating Avi “so bad” and even being “abusive,” others noted that Avi “deserves respect.”
“She treated him horribly. Glad he left,” someone stated.
“Maybe because she’s a nightmare,” another suspected.
