In the season finale of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Jenn shows off her rock of an engagement ring and decides to block out the Ryan haters. To honor the newly engaged, a party ensues, and but once all of the women are together again, things fall apart. Heather and Katie still can’t see eye to eye and forget about Shannon and Tamra having a resolution. In the end, a bombshell gets dropped about Ryan that leaves Tamra saying, “I told you so…”
Here’s a great idea…get these angry ladies together to throw some axes. Emily and Gina reflect on Shannon leaving and traveling home from London by herself on a different flight. Emily feels like it’s too much with Tamra constantly going after Shannon. Although Shannon was wrapped up in this drama as well, at least she is working on herself!
Jenn and her diamond ring enter. Yes, she got engaged to Ryan in the Bahamas after London. Shannon joins, ready to “whoop some axe” and is blinded by Jenn’s ring. They all believe that despite reservations early on about Ryan, everyone deserves a second chance, particularly since Ryan took Jenn …and her five kids… into his home. However, Gina ponders if instead of a ring, Ryan just give Jenn money to pay her rent. Ooph.
Because of the engagement, Jenn shares that there will be a celebration-a tacky bridesmaid dress bash-but Jenn isn’t sure what to do about the Tamra of it all. She was supposed to be going to Tamra’s house, but she isn’t quite ready to talk to her about what went down in London. Jenn chooses to send Tamra a text instead, rather than chat face to face.
Speaking of face to face, Alexis rolls up to Tamra’s house gifting her some Clorox wipes “so we can clean up the sh*t that we have to talk about.” Oh Alexis. She is just trying so damn hard. We learn that Alexis has been ring shopping with Johnny, since, ya know, he hasn’t loved anyone as much as Alexis except for Shannon (thanks, production, for that flashback!).
Alexis lets Tamra know that she will be throwing Jenn a horrible bridesmaid dress party, but Tamra isn’t sure what to think. According to Tamra, she is in a bad place with everyone in the group thanks to Shannon. Way to take accountability, Tamra. Tamra feels like Shannon tried to destroy her friendship with Jenn, but evidently, Shannon’s truth is different from the real truth, especially when it comes to text message receipts. Apparently, Shannon is writing her own narrative and is only showing a small portion of texts to make Tamra look bad. Hilarious that Alexis keeps repeating the phrase “liar face” about Shannon, considering we all know that classic line came from Vicki!
Momming is different for each of these women. For Jenn, it’s talking to her son about going into the Marines, whereas Heather chats with her son about his first real estate sale. Tamra attempts to bond with her daughter over the music industry and Kaili, Katie’s daughter, finally gets to celebrate her official name change. It’s a (momentary) refreshing change from the usual drama.
As much as Gina doesn’t want this to be her permanent situation with Travis, his ex is continuing to make life difficult. Gina refers to it as “toxic, scary, aggressive behavior” from his ex, but Travis doesn’t feel like this move was necessary. In his eyes, Gina needs to stop pulling away when things get tough. Gina talks about going to therapy to try to figure out a way out of this situation.
Katie and Alexis are the first to arrive to the engagement party. Jo De La Rosa makes an appearance-talk about a throwback-but not as much of a throwback as Emily in her wedding dress from 15 years earlier. Heather committed to the theme, whereas Alexis looks normal… “for once.” Heather shares that Katie and her husband, Matt, did not say hello to her when they pass by, but Katie feels like Heather snubbed HER.
Shannon enters with Vicki, but they bypass Tamra, proving a point. Jenn makes her grand entrance with Ryan and is thrilled to be celebrating this moment with her friends and her parents. It turns out that Jo used to work for Ryan and he was her old boss…which is weird.
Tamra shares with Gina that she is laying off the sauce, considering the recent issues that have happened. Gina feels like she has become collateral damage in Tamra’s fights with Shannon and does not appreciate Tamra’s narcissistic behavior.
Emily takes a minute to talk to Katie about Kaili babysitting and states that her sons never said Heather’s mean. It’s not even a matter of truth in Emily’s eyes, but she is more upset that Kaili told Tamra about this during a funny mother-daughter moment. Heather does not like that Katie was giggling about this, but Katie calls Heather ridiculous.
Emily tries to show Katie how the whole situation jeopardized her relationship with Heather and also implies that she is a bad parent. Not cool. Heather feels like Katie is distasteful. The footage of Katie’s son calling Heather a jerk certainly does not help Katie’s case at all…
Tamra wants to show all of the texts that Shannon has, but Jenn is tired of rehashing things with Tamra. The difference between Tamra and Shannon is that when Shannon apologizes, Jenn believes her. When Tamra gets confronted about talking about Ryan, she lets Jenn know that a lot of the ladies talk about Ryan. Once again, deflecting.
Shannon reminds the group that she has created healthy boundaries and points out that Tamra blasted her for four days straight in London. This time, Tamra did not even say anything, but Shannon runs off as usual. Shannon vents to Katie’s husband Matt, and he says that maybe it’s time for her to walk away. Matt thinks Shannon is trying to argue with him and shuts her right down, leaving Shannon aghast as she gets pulled away to be a part of a toast to Jenn. Luckily, Tamra exits.
Shannon finds Katie and lets her know that her husband was really inappropriate in his response to her, but the convo gets cut short when Johnny J. arrives to pick up Alexis (the guy who HATES the cameras). Shannon states, Alexis “didn’t take my man, she took my problem,” which is hilarious.
As the season wraps, we learn that Shannon is entering the dating pool, but the lawsuit is still unsettled, and Johnny is still asking the public not to believes lies about him that Shannon created. Emily has stopped using Kaili as a babysitter and Tamra is still waiting for her invite to Jenn’s wedding. Heather’s kids are thriving and Terry’s no longer snoring, so that’s a win. Katie has yet to travel to South Korea and Gina and Travis are still living apart, but Travis is getting closer to finalizing his divorce.
All seems well with Jenn and Ryan and Jenn is happy to tell all the doubters that she has found forever happiness until three weeks later…
News breaks that Ryan is being linked to a gambling scandal as Emily claims he is accused of laundering money through casinos in Vegas. Ryan remains cool as a cucumber as Jenn spirals, calling it a blood bath for her. Ryan remains steadfast that he is not a part of his friend’s bookie business, but no one can believe that Ryan is innocent. Especially Tamra who is absolutely reveling in this moment. She loves being right and claims that her gut is “never wrong.”
Tamra meets with Emily, Alexis, and Heather to discuss just how bad the Ryan situation is. The guy allegedly had $16 million coming into his account, yet claims he didn’t know where it came from. Tamra throws on an FBI baseball hat to prove that she has been right all along.
Jenn comes to Katie’s house and catches Gina and Katie up on everything. Gina feels like Jenn is in an unhealthy relationship. Jenn becomes emotional, but Gina reminds Jenn that she is in the line of fire. She should not have to worry about the BS that is happening all around her.
“I feel like you are in an unhealthy relationship,” Gina flats out tells Jenn. Earlier, while speaking to Katie, Gina stated: “If she stays with him, it will ruin her life.”
It seems like Jenn blew up her life and put her family through a lot for Ryan and now Jenn is distraught. In the end, Ryan was never accused, but his friend was charged. The wedding is set for 2025 …and they lived happily ever after?
