Melissa Gorga shaded Jackie Goldschneider’s new friendship with Teresa Giudice and hinted at why her own friendship with Jackie ended.
On the latest episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa (Melissa’s estranged sister-in-law) was put in the hot seat over her drama with Danielle Cabral. But instead of joining the onslaught, Jackie stood by Teresa, with whom she’s been forming a new friendship. At this point, Melissa quickly alluded to cheating rumors that Teresa spread about Jackie’s husband in the past – before Jackie questioned why Melissa was so determined to keep her mad about it.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Melissa claimed she was “shocked” that Jackie stood up for Teresa after Melissa brought up their past drama.
“I think the fans are going to see it was very obvious with what Jackie was trying to do here, and it doesn’t come off real or for the right reasons,” shared Melissa. “So it’s sad because I was her biggest advocate. I loved her. I said from day one, ‘She’s a strong girl.’ She was next to me all the time.”
“I don’t hate Jackie,” she went on. “I’m just shocked by her, and I would say disappointed and I can’t believe she chose that route.”
Melissa also claimed there was a shift in Jackie regarding her drama with Margaret Josephs, who was mad that Jackie didn’t send her an advanced copy of her memoir. The disagreement is still a source of tension.
“[Jackie and I] had a great relationship and I guess because she had this thing with Margaret, she tried to take it out on me too and say certain things to me that I was like, ‘Where is this coming from?’” said Melissa. “And you’ll see that as the season goes on because it’s weird, if anything.”
Last week, an insider told the outlet that the show would not get a reunion: “A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season final that there is no path forward in that type of setting. So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season.”
On SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, Andy claimed the season finale is one that “people will be talking about for a long time to come.”
“It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like The Last Supper and is just so Jersey,” he shared. “And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV.”
