If you were paying attention to the foreshadowing in these last episodes of The Real Housewives of New York City, you’d realize that Ubah has been slowly simmering. It was only a matter of time before she boils over and explodes on Brynn. Brynn appears to be on many people’s lists, including Sai. Ubah claims she is having difficulty opening up to the group because of all the miscommunication, but Racquel and Rebecca have no problem sharing their past with the group. Will this Hamptons trip to Erin‘s house be a total disaster, or will the ladies clear the air?
Over at Erin’s house in Sag Harbor, she is prepping for the arrival of the women, and she has made sure to step up her snack game for this group of complainers. Speaking of complaining, Sai and Ubah bicker on the car ride up about the temperature of the vehicle, until they switch gears and discuss Ubah’s relationship. Ubah stresses about opportunities with her boyfriend, Oliver, but Sai suggests she just go with the flow.
The chopper crew arrives, and although a bit leery, Erin greets Jessel, Brynn, and Rebecca. Rebecca shares that she can’t handle booze anymore as Ubah and Sai arrive. We learn that Racquel is on her way, but that she was stuck driving herself. You see, she gets “crazy carsick,” and Ubah and Sai apparently wouldn’t give up the front seat so they could all come together. Talk about a game of telephone. Great, now Sai has an issue with Racquel on top of her issue with Brynn.
Naturally, Sai brings out the receipts and proves to the group that she never said Racquel could not sit in the front seat. The way a text message doesn’t lie…
In the meantime, Jenna rolls up in her $217,625 Bentley, like a boss. Who called her cheap again?! As Jenna gets situated, Ubah takes a minute with Brynn, and she explains, “Nothing is good.” Brynn asks Ubah to barter a make-up with Sai, and they sneak off to discuss it further.
When Racquel arrives, she explains that she could have never driven a car after taking Dramamine, and when Sai jumps in to question the accusation, Racquel brushes it off by stating, “Lines were crossed.” Okay, so that’s one issue solved. Onto Brynn…
Sai meanders over to where Ubah and Brynn are pow-wowing, and soon they are left to work through their issues. Brynn apologizes right off the bat, but Sai doesn’t appreciate that Brynn’s blanket apology seemingly brushes *her* feelings under the rug. Sai was P*SSED at Brynn for telling Jenna she said she hated her, and so Brynn calls Jenna in as backup.
Sai reminds Jenna that she pointed out Brynn told her the info, but now Jenna tries to backpedal, claiming she didn’t highlight or call Brynn out… but she did. Seems like Jenna is scared of conflict, but she doesn’t have a problem talking behind people’s backs. In her confessional, Sai calls Jenna an old lady who can’t remember anything, which is also messed up. Brynn admits that she loves to stir the pot, however, SHE spread that Sai hated Jenna. Sai claims that all Brynn wants to do is “stick a pacifier in my mouth, tell me we’re cool, and then have fun with me.” Brynn and Sai clearly need to figure their stuff out.
Sai leaves after dealing with Brynn’s condescending tone, but Erin points out that Jenna got in the middle of their problems. Brynn knows this is going to be a long weekend, and instead of giving space, Brynn enters and hugs Sai in an attempt to smooth things over. It appears as though, for the moment, this friendship is healed.
When Erin comes out donning gifts, Jenna one-ups the gift-giving with some lingerie for the ladies. However, she gets Jessel something special: a Christmas tree costume, a nod to last year’s lingerie. LOL.
The women disperse and prepare for dinner, and it appears as though Jessel is not wearing any clothes to the restaurant. Do you, girl. Over their meal, we learn more about Racquel. She explains that in the ’90s, she was a model who was married to a man and had a home in West Hampton Beach. When Racquel started in the art world, it was hard to get galleries to sell to her. Therefore, she built a collection, and now she advises. Racquel goes on to explain that she got engaged to Mel when they stopped for a photo op on a motorcycle ride. Her ring is a “whole situation” by a designer she loves, and I died when Jessel questions in her confessional, “Did you get this out of a Kinder egg?”
Since Racquel shared, Rebecca gets put on the spot. She shares that she fell in love with a guy and settled in New York, but he broke up with her soon after. Rebecca goes on to talk about losing her virginity at 16, and her parents made a deal with her: if she didn’t do drugs, they would get her birth control. No one asked for this information…
At the end of the night, Jessel, Ubah, and Erin catch up in the kitchen. Ubah shares that Sai feels like Brynn just dismisses everything she says, so things aren’t all patched up with Brynn in Sai’s eyes. Ubah feels like she is scared to open up in front of all the women because everyone is twisting things and they are behaving like pigeons. Yup. Pigeons.
Brynn enters and shares that she feels good now that things are better with Sai. Ubah makes it clear that things are not okay, but Brynn feels like there has been a breakthrough. Ubah goes on to say, “You guys are all lies,” and that all of this behind-the-back stuff isn’t cool. Ubah knows that Sai is trying to explain her feelings, yet Brynn brushes her off. Brynn starts to get heated, but she claims that everyone should be thankful that she is being cool and letting things fly. She tells Ubah this is not her fight, but Ubah is annoyed that Brynn acts like the victim so no one can see who she really is.
The next morning, Erin and Brynn talk about how the game of telephone needs to stop. Brynn admits to being the twister and the twisted. In the other room, Ubah explains that she can’t open up because the crew are “pigeons with no right address.” Ubah promises that she will train these pigeons, whatever that means.
Over breakfast, Ubah states that Sai is not there because she is tired of being used as a pawn. Ubah dislikes the miscommunication within the group, and Brynn retorts that this issue exists because “people are using spokespeople and not talking for themselves.” What a dig at Ubah AND Sai. Ubah goes off and tells Brynn to STFU, which irks Brynn because Brynn believes you can fight without cursing. Ubah clearly does not trust Brynn, and what we are seeing is the remnants of Brynn outing Ubah’s relationship last season.
Ubah claims that Brynn was condescending to her and goes on to say that everyone here is a pigeon and they all need to clear their ears. Brynn wishes that Ubah would be respectful, but Ubah points out that Brynn is the one who is stirring up all the drama. Ubah goes low, and she says Brynn is the worst because no one can see her coming. At the pinnacle of Ubah unleashing, Sai blurts out “pineapple,” and it immediately shuts Ubah up. Is that Sai and Ubah’s safe word? Is “pineapple” the modern-day Pavlov’s dog experiment?!
Brynn excuses herself after the blow-up with Ubah. Erin takes Ubah aside to discuss the imminent blow-up and hopes for peace, but Ubah makes no promises. Just do yourself a favor and do not take a shot every time Ubah says “pigeon…”
