Robert Irwin has signed on to “Dancing With the Stars” Season 34, and fans have welcomed the announcement of his inclusion in the ABC dance competition. But does he have the dance moves to win the Mirrorball Trophy? This remains to be seen; however, Irwin’s skills were recently highlighted when he danced with Katy Perry.

That’s right, the “Dark Horse” singer was hanging out with Irwin earlier this week when she took a trip to the Australian Zoo in Queensland. She is currently in Australia performing concert dates as part of her Lifetimes Tour.
Perry shared a series of photos from her trip on Instagram on June 24, including images of her snuggling with a koala and posing for pictures with Irwin. But the highlight of the trip, at least for DWTS fans, was when she asked Irwin to dance with her (on the last slide of her post).
“I heard Robert Irwin was gonna be on ‘Dancing With the Stars,” the text on the video reads. In the clip, Perry asks the wildlife conservationist if he’s ready, and they start dancing. Everything is going well until it is time for her to dip, and Irwin appears to drop her, and she ends up on the floor. “Maybe stick with the animals,” Perry tells him as he helps her up from the floor while giggling.
Perry made a second Instagram post on June 24, this time sharing a video of herself feeding a kangaroo during her trip to the Australian Zoo.
Could Robert Irwin Win DWTS Season 34?
Now, was this dance video with Perry just a skit to throw us off, and does Irwin have excellent dance skills? Or did he fumble a bit when it was time to dance with a pop star? Either way, his energy and overall charm made the video a great watch, and his likability will likely take him far in the competition. DWTS pro dancer Daniella Karagach has predicted he might have what it takes to win Season 34.
“I think people are going to fall in love with him,” Karagach told People on June 3. “He’s going to do [well]. I mean, I’m sure he’s going to be in the finals. I just feel like personality and popularity plays such a big part, so even if you’re not the best dancer, I feel like if you’re popular enough and people support you, you’ll go really far.”
