Hot on the heels of the undisputed showdown between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, Roy Jones Jr has been asked about another all-time great heavyweight match-up. Jones remains the only man in history to start his professional career at light middleweight and go on to win a heavyweight title while also holding belts at middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated the former multi-weight world champion was asked who would come out on top between the three-time heavyweight king Muhammad Ali and fearsome knockout artist Mike Tyson and had no doubt his boxing idol would get his hand raised.
“Muhammad Ali. If it weren’t for Muhammad Ali, there would be no Roy Jones. He always will be the greatest in my book.”
Tyson was supposed to be back in the ring next month against Jake Paul, a man almost 20 years his junior, but the flare-up of an ulcer has delayed the fight with a new date of November 15 now confirmed.
