Roy Jones Jr Summed Up Jake Paul’s Boxing Ability In Just 4 Words After Mike Tyson Fight

Jake Paul‘s boxing ability is always a hot debate.

The Youtuber-turned-boxer made his professional debut back in 2020, and has remained active during that time, having 12 fights to date.

After beginning his career with stoppage wins over a fellow YouTuber and a former basketball player, Paul then began his run of taking on ex-MMA fighters.

He stopped Ben Askren in the first round then picked up back-to-back wins against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, before what was perceived as a step up in competition against MMA legend Anderson Silva.

Paul was able to prove the doubters wrong and dominate the majority of the action though, dropping Silva on his way to a unanimous decision win.

‘The Problem Child’ then took on the first professional boxer of his career when he met Tommy Fury, and despite claiming a final round knockdown, lost the fight by split decision to suffer his first defeat.

Paul then returned to his usual procedure of facing MMA fighters, beating Nate Diaz by unanimous decision, but did follow that up with first round knockout wins over professional boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland.

He was then set to take on boxing legend Mike Tyson in July, but after ‘Iron Mike’ was forced to postpone the contest, ex-UFC star Mike Perry stepped in, with Paul earning a sixth round knockout win.

The Tyson fight then took place in November despite a lot of criticism from the boxing world, and Paul was able to outclass the now 58-year-old, winning by unanimous decision.

Paul’s boxing career has been under the microscope from the off, and boxing legend Roy Jones Jr has told Boxing Unleashed in just four words what he thinks of his ability after watching his career progress over the past few years.

“He can actually fight.”

While Jones Jr may seemingly be pleased with Paul, one current world champion wants to face ‘The Problem Child’ as payback for Tyson.
