Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt has been one of the best defenders in the league since he was selected with the No. 30 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
In his rookie season, he helped a Steelers team with Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown to the playoffs, losing in their first postseason game.
It was more of the same with newly signed quarterback Russell Wilson, who joined the team over the 2024 offseason on a one-year deal. Wilson didn't play until Week 7, with Justin Fields guiding Pittsburgh to a 4-2 record. When Wilson returned, he won six of his first seven games before losing five straight and getting eliminated in the wild-card round.
Wilson went through his first full NFL season as a father of four after his wife, Ciara, had their fourth child, Amora Princess, in December 2023.
Watt will be going through his first season as a father in 2025, as he and his wife, Dani Watt, announced that they were expecting their first child back in November.
"Very thankful for this family we are starting," T.J. Watt wrote on Instagram. "You are crushing pregnancy."
On Monday, the big day finally came as the Watt couple announced the birth of their daughter, Blakely Marie Watt!.
"Worth The Wait," the Watt couple wrote in a joint post. "Welcome To The World Blakely Marie Watt! "
Wilson showed love to his teammate of one year with a five-word message in the comment section: "Congrats y’all! What a blessing!"
Although Fields is on his way out of Pittsburgh after signing a two-year, $40 million deal with the New York Jets, it appears the Steelers may be moving on from Wilson despite the need for a quarterback. Another potential option that has been floated around is bringing in Aaron Rodgers, who spent the last two seasons with the Jets.
If Wilson were to return to the Steelers, he would have a new weapon after the team traded for wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks.
