After months of sporting rings and publicly referring to each other as “fiancé,” Ryan Edwards and Amanda Conner are officially engaged.
The Teen Mom dad reportedly popped the question to his pregnant girlfriend over the weekend during a family vacation, according to Us Weekly.
In the video of the proposal, which was originally posted by Ryan on social media, Ryan can be seen getting down on one knee in front of Amanda– who is due to give birth to the couple’s baby girl next month– as cameras stand by filming the moment, suggesting it will be featured on the upcoming season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which premieres later this month.
Also present for the on-camera proposal were Ryan’s 16-year-old son Bentley, whom he shares with ex Maci Bookout, and Amanda’s 11-year-old son Brandon from a previous relationship. (As The Ashley previously told you, Amanda announced on TikTok in November that she was awarded full custody of her son after having lost custody a year or so after his 2013 birth.)
Though Ryan and Amanda have seemingly made their engagement official, Ryan currently remains legally married to Mackenzie Standifer, with whom he shares six-year-old son Jagger and five-year-old daughter Stella.
Ryan and Mack split in February 2023 and are currently in the midst of a messy divorce and custody battle. As The Ashley exclusively revealed last month, the exes are set to head to trial after failing to come to an agreement regarding the custody of their two children. During their December mediation session, the pair were reportedly able to agree on everything except how Amanda would be worked into Jagger and Stella’s lives.
As The Ashley has previously reported, Amanda is not currently allowed to be around Ryan and Mackenzie’s children during Ryan’s visits with them. Instead, Jagger and Stella stay overnight at Ryan’s parents’ house, where Ryan is allowed to visit and stay overnight with them, as long as Amanda is not present.
Amanda– who is allowed to be around Bentley– is, like Ryan, a recovering addict with a long history of arrests and run-ins with the law. Last month, Amanda took to TikTok to address the fact that she isn’t allowed to be around Ryan’s two younger children, during which she showed proof that her recent drugs tests were clean, despite Mackenzie allegedly still accusing both her and Ryan of using drugs.
“I’ve seen so many pages talk about why I specifically am not allowed to be around [Ryan’s youngest two] children,” Amanda stated in the TikTok. “Take it, the other party does state that we are on [drugs] and that is not true at all.”
In addition to showing proof of her most recent drug tests, Amanda insisted that Ryan is drug-tested at his probation meetings and that he regularly attends Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings as well as other classes and virtual meetings related to his sobriety.
Mackenzie has yet to respond to Ryan’s most recent proposal.
