San Francisco 49ers defender trash talks Sam Darnold, gives Minnesota Vikings bulletin board material

There isn't any love lost with the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Vikings starting quarterback spent the 2023 season with the 49ers and backed up Brock Purdy. He started one game for the franchise during their Super Bowl runner-up season. As the backup, he didn't get a lot of reps but Darnold got enough to make an impact on his former teammates, whom he will face on Sunday afternoon in the Vikings' home opener.

It took until Thursday afternoon after practice for some bulletin board material to come out, but we got some good stuff. 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir had no problem talking trash about Darnold, saying that he likes to throw him the ball.

“I think I win that for sure. I believe I win. Me and Sam, we have this connection, this connection where he like to throw the ball to me. This week I’m coming, he know it. I know he’s a talented player. He’s gonna come ready for work.”

Ragging on him for throwing interceptions in practice is quite an interesting strategy. Throwing those in practice isn't really a big deal. It's actually a good thing since that helps quarterbacks learn what they can and can't do.

Sure, Darnold has had issues with interceptions with 57 in his career to just 65 touchdowns. However, this isn't the kind of thing that you want to say ahead of the game. The Vikings will certainly have this on the bulletin board for motivation.
