Saquon Barkley's monster day, other bold predictions for Eagles vs. Commanders

And here we go! Sorry, we just watched The Dark Knight again and were discussing Heath Ledger's 'Joker' interpretation. It's a long story, one that started with A.J. Brown's recent injury conversation. That evolved into reminiscing about Darius Slay nicknaming his Philadelphia Eagles teammates, Brown and DeVonta Smith, as Swole and Skinny Batman.

So, yeah... We spent a few hours watching The Dark Knight trilogy.

Saquon Barkley's monster day, other bold predictions for Eagles vs. Commanders

Some of you have no idea what we are talking about, so let's refocus. Let's talk about real-life superheroes like the guys in green.

We've seen rookies play and carry themselves like seasoned vets. We've seen one of the new guys, Zack Baun, play like an All-Pro when we thought he'd max out as a depth piece.

Then, there's Saquon Barkley. You may have heard. He's been pretty good as well. His historic march continues.

He's on track to break Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, and we believe those discussions will continue taking off after Philly's final road date. This one comes vs. a familiar opponent.

Saquon Barkley stacks 175 yards rushing and a rushing TD.

The last time Saquon Barkley and the Eagles met the Washington Commanders, he torched them for 198 scrimmage yards and two rushing TDs. That includes 146 yards rushing on 26 carries. There's no reason to think he can't enjoy a similar performance.

A.J. Brown popped up on the Eagles injury report with a knee injury. He'll play, but it isn't wild to assume Saquon will enjoy a heavy workload.

As good as he was last time Philly played the Commanders, we expect he'll be even better. Figure 175 yards rushing in this one and more conversations about his run (pun intended) at history.

Jalen Hurts accounts for two total TDs. One comes by way of a designed run.

Jalen Hurts has endured criticism pretty much for as long as we've known who Jalen Hurts is. He has typically answered the call when he has been. Most recently, we asked if he's an accomplished enough passer to carry an Eagles offense.

He showed some moxie vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Still, we expect heavier dosages of the Eagles running game in Week 16. Jalen will be utilized as part of that rushing attack. Our prediction is he shines again, throwing a TD pass and rushing for another.

The Eagles defense registers a turnover and four Jayden Daniels sacks.

Philly's defense has gotten on a roll, and after stringing some impressive performances together, we have a feeling they'll work their magic in this one. They picked off a Jayden Daniels pass in Week 11 and introduced him to the turf three times. We feel it in our bones, they'll offer another 'commanding' performance in this game.

We're putting our money on Daniels throwing another pick and Vic Fangio's guys raising the three QB takedowns they earned last time with a four-sack performance in Week 16.

Philly wins this one by ten points.

Game odds refresh periodically and often change, but at last look, our buddies at DraftKings favored the Birds by 3.5 points. Our guess? Philly covers in this one and then some.

The Birds edged out the Commanders by eight points the last time these two saw each other. They also left a ton of money on the table.

Expect a long drive or two that chews some clock, and that will limit scoring opportunities for both sides. Still, we see Philly equaling the 26 points they scored last time or adding a few more to the total this time.
