Lala Kent and Tom Sandoval have done a lot of work in their relationship in the last few years, but the two weren't always exactly on the best of terms.
According to Scheana Shay, Lala got revenge on Sandoval in a major way when he was first navigating the fallout from his split from Ariana Madix.
"We knew that there was a name that Sandoval always wanted for a boy," the Vanderpump Rules cast member explained about baby names on the April 25 episode of her podcast, Scheananigans with Scheana Shay. "And when Ariana froze her eggs and went on, she was like, 'We're never having a boy, like if we have a kid, it's going to be a girl.' And I'm like, 'Well, that name could work for either.' She's like, 'We're not naming our kid that.'"
She continued, "Lala — it's so shady — she went on an Amazon Live or Instagram Story or something and she's like, 'So, you know, for my next baby, here are some names that I was thinking of' and said the name that Sandoval always wanted. She was like, 'I'm going to publicly claim this name first.' And she also has a tattoo of that name, but in a different form, so people believed her, but she just did it to be petty. And I loved it. In that moment, I was like that is good."
When asked if Sandoval reacted to Lala's shady move, Scheana admitted that she's not even sure if he noticed.
"I don't even know if he saw it or whatever, I just thought it was so funny," she continued.
While Scheana didn't reveal the baby name in question, Lala does have a tattoo of a lion. During an Instagram Q&A in March 2024, the then-expectant mom listed out some of the names she was considering using for Baby No. 2, which included Lion (and Snow, Mighty, and Rampage aka Ram).
As fans now know, Lala chose to name her daughter Sosa Kent.
Are Tom Sandoval and Lala Kent friends?
Back in November 2024, Lala shared that she's not often in touch with Sandoval, though he does "reach out every so often."
"I'm the worst texter in the world, so I rarely respond," Lala said on the November 19 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
When asked if she's just a bad texter or if she isn't actually interested in talking to the Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras front man, Lala admitted it's the latter.
"I just, it's like we weren't friends before, and [it's] too little too late, buddy," she said.
