Scheana Shay called out former “Pump Rules” co-star Kristen Doute for promoting T-shirts with a caption that was seemingly inspired by an R. Kelly song.
Scheana Shay isn’t here for the petty.
The “Vanderpump Rules” cast member called out former co-star Kristen Doute on Instagram for promoting her “Petty with a Purpose” T-shirts with a caption that was seemingly inspired by R. Kelly’s song “Bump n’ Grind.”
“our mind is telling us no, but our petty is telling us yes… 😏,” Doute, 41, captioned a clip of herself and pal Zack Wickham showing off the merch.
“Not the R Kelly reference…. 🫣😬,” Shay, 39, commented on the video Thursday night.
“our mind is telling us no, but our petty is telling us yes… 😏,” Doute’s Instagram caption read.
The opening lyrics of Kelly’s 1993 track are, “My mind’s tellin’ me no, but my body, my body’s tellin’ me yes.”
However, Doute responded to Shay’s remark with a simple, “huh?” — which implied she was unaware of the reference.
Wickham later clarified, “we got the caption from an e card lol we had no idea it was a lyric from him obviously.”
The caption referenced lyrics from Kelly’s 1993 hit “Bump n’ Grind.”
The song’s opening lyrics are, “My mind’s tellin’ me no, but my body, my body’s tellin’ me yes.”
However, Doute’s pal Zack Wickham later claimed that the caption was taken from an e-card.
Wickham — who stars in “The Valley” with Doute — also joked about the misunderstanding, telling a fan, “probably will end up on next weeks podcast episode.”
In 2022, Kelly was convicted of eight counts of sex trafficking and one count of racketeering in New York. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The disgraced singer, 57, was then found guilty of child sexual abuse months later in a federal trial in Chicago. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, 19 of which a judge allowed him to serve concurrently with this New York sentence.
R. Kelly is currently serving 31 years in prison.

Despite Shay’s comment on Doute’s post, there appears to be no bad blood between the two.
Shay defended Doute during the debut season of “The Valley” when Jax Taylor questioned whether the latter was ready to have a child.
Shay is mom to a daughter named Summer, whom she shares with husband Brock Davies.
