Scheana Shay Reveals Hardest Vanderpump Rules Conversation Ever

Vanderpump Rules alum Scheana Shay has a full, happy life these days. She has a loving husband and a beautiful, healthy daughter. She participated in The Masked Singer Season 13 as The Bat. But we all know she’s been through times when things weren’t as “Good as Gold.”

On May 15 Scheana appeared alongside Real Housewives of Atlanta’s newest peach-holder Shamea Morton on Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo with Kate Chastain. During her appearance, Kate asked Scheana to recall her hardest on-screen conversation.

Scheana Shay says Tom Sandoval was at the center of her hardest Vanderpump Rules conversation

“There’s been a lot, but it’s probably the Season 10 finale with [Tom] Sandoval,” Scheana admitted. “Having to just really take a side, tell him how I felt … I was like, ‘I’m not gonna let any of this get to me.’”

She explained that it was “hard to do” since Tom had been her “best friend for 15 years.”

In case you haven’t heard, during Pump Rules Season 10, Sandoval cheated on his longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix. The ensuing fallout was cleverly dubbed Scandoval. Also best friends with Ariana, Scheana couldn’t excuse Tom’s cheating on her.

“Sandoval and I have been friends for 14 years,” The Valley friend said at the time. “We opened up Villa Blanca together back in 2009. I met him way before Ariana.”

Even more heartbreaking to Scheana was Tom denying that they were ever that close. During Season 10 Episode 15, Scheana tearfully recalled her first time at the NBCUpfronts in New York. She was nervous about not knowing anyone.

“I remember we were doing the red carpet, and no one wanted me in the photos,” she said. “He put his arm around me, and he pulled me [in]. And he was just like, ‘No, you’re a part of this; you’re with all of us.’”

Sadly, Tom and Scheana’s close friendship is in the past. In an April 2025 episode of Two Ts in A Pod, Scheana confessed, “I have not talked to him in, I don’t know how long.”
