Scorned Josh Allen and Bills plotting $11m hijack of Patrick Mahomes target in Super Bowl revenge bid

Josh Allen probably sees Patrick Mahomes when he closes his eyes at night.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback has had the misfortune of running into Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs four times in the postseason.

Mahomes has haunted Allen in the playoffs for years

He has lost all four -- an unwanted NFL record.

Allen's season came to a premature end in an AFC Championship Game defeat to the Chiefs, who went on to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

To make matters worse, the Bills traded the pick used to draft Mahomes tenth overall in 2017 and the 28th selection in last year's Draft, which turned into Xavier Worthy, to the Chiefs.

Worthy took six catches for 86 yards and a score in January's thrilling 32-29 triumph over Buffalo.

If Allen wants to avoid being talked about as one of the best quarterbacks never to make a Super Bowl, things are clearly going to have to change.

And ESPN is reporting the Bills are planning a move that will simultaneously upgrade their WR room while also weakening Mahomes' arsenal.

Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown joined the Chiefs in March on a one-year deal worth $11million.

He was injured in preseason action and only returned to the field in December, managing 14 catches for 141 yards including the postseason.

The Chiefs are believed to be keen to bring the 27-year-old back but face competition from across the league.

Brown has already played for Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray and Mahomes in his NFL career, which began with the Baltimore Ravens, and ESPN claims that Allen has always wanted to link up with him.

Hollywood would add a much-needed downfield threat to the Bills, who lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis last offseason.

Allen was controversially named MVP over Jackson earlier this month.

The Bills star racked up 383 points and 27 first-place votes, compared to the Ravens passer's 362 points and 23 first-place votes.

It was a surprise decision that left three-time Super Bowl champ Shannon Sharpe stunned after Jackson was named a First-Team All-Pro.

"I'm shocked," Sharpe told co-host Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson.

"I'm trying to wrap my mind around it because here's the thing, guys. These are the same 50 men and women that voted for the All-Pro team.

"So how do you not vote Josh Allen the first-team All-Pro quarterback, but you vote him MVP? It makes no sense."

Johnson, meanwhile, described the decision as 'bull****' and suggested the league 'handed' Allen the award.

"Look, had Josh Allen (been) first team All-Pro, Ocho, I don't think we have a disagreement," Sharpe continued.

"The only thing I was certain of, I said, 'Ocho, unless something funny goes on, the first team All-Pro quarterback is normally the MVP.'"

Personal accolades are fine but Allen is desperate to get his hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The path could well lead him into another showdown with Mahomes -- he will need all the help he can get to finally come out on top.
