How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta Sundays 8/7c on Bravo and streaming next day on Peacock.

Shamea discussed her ex-husband with fellow castmates Drew Sidora, Porsha Williams, Brit Eady, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley and friend Cynthia Bailey during the group trip to Nashville on Season 16, Episode 8, and she further opened up about her marriage on The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show.

"I got a call from a former friend, someone that was really good friends with my ex," Shamea explained to Kelli about why she was so upset about getting a surprise phone call during the group trip. "And I hadn't talked to her in over a decade."

"Are you serious?" Kelli asked, which you can check out by watching the video above.

"Yeah, 'cause when we divorced, people picked sides, of course, [and] he was a successful guy, he was popular, and all the things. And I tried to tell 'em once, but I wasn't going to parade it around for the world, I was like, 'Listen, this is what he did to me, this is why we are not together," she explained. "And they were like, 'Yeah, no.' They weren't standing for me."

Shamea then discussed the nature of the call she received.

"Fast-forward and she's like, 'Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry,' to paraphrase it, 'You were right,'" Shamea recounted. "Just to have it validated from his friend, it really meant a lot to me because I felt like somebody believes me."

Shamea was with her childhood best friend, Porsha, when she got the call.

"We kind of just talked about it a little bit," the mom of two continued. "I mean, I had the strength and the support to be able to move on and to get out of that situation, but a lot of people don't, and I was like, 'Alright, you just sit back and fight your own battles' and that was proof of that."
