Shane Mosley Lost To Canelo And Now Makes An Emphatic Prediction For Terence Crawford Fight - Seconds Out

After months of speculation, it was confirmed last week that the pound-for-pound greats will do battle on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Staium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo is set to defend his undisputed super-middleweight championship against ‘Bud’ after he overcame former IBF champion William Scull in Riyadh at the beginning of last month.

Retired three-weight world champion Mosley locked horns with Alvarez back in May of 2012, falling short in his attempt to dethrone the Mexican icon of his WBC super-welterweight title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Boxing Social, Mosley was asked if he believes Crawford has what it takes to defeat Canelo, taking into consideration that the 37-year-old from Omaha is making the jump up in two weight classes to face the Mexican star. He said no.

“I can’t see it, I can’t see it. Because Canelo got skills too! It’s not like he don’t have the skills, like Crawford has skills yeah. I’m just saying like if they both fought at 154 right and Canelo was who he was at 154 and they both fought, I don’t know. Now you got Canelo at 168, I just think for me it’s not even a shot, I just can’t see it.”

Canelo has proven to be a major player at super-middleweight since he moved up from middleweight back in 2018, defeating the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Jermell Charlo and Jaime Munguia during his reign.

A victory for Crawford would see the unbeaten 37-year-old capture an undisputed championship in a third weight class, becoming the first male fighter in boxing history to accomplish this feat.
