“She Belonged in the Pods”: Love Is Blind’s Alex Byrd Shades Huda Mustafa, Says Love Island USA Was the Wrong Show for Her

All reality TV dating shows were not created equally, which is why Love Is Blind alum Alex Byrd thinks Huda Mustafa made a mistake by signing up for Love Island USA.

So far, Huda has spent her time in the villa focused on finding a companion. A single mother, she’s earnest in her approach in the villa, whereas most people on that show are fueled by lust. That’s why Alex thinks she was miscast.

Alex Byrd says to Huda Mustafa; “We would have accepted you with open arms”

“Huda, you should have [gone] on Love Is Blind,” Alex said in a new TikTok. “You’re on the wrong show. Falling in love with a man after a week of knowing them? You would have fit right in. We would have accepted you with open arms.”

Of course, Alex went into the Love Is Blind “experiment” in Season 7 with an open mind and heart. She got engaged to Tim Godbee, but wound up breaking up after they got in a fight over a nap. Yes, a nap

Meanwhile, Huda is on Love Island USA Season 7, and at this point, we fear she might end up going home alone just like Alex did. Huda tried partnering up with Jeremiah Brown, but he ended up choosing a bombshell over her. With that in mind, Alex said that she could see a world where Huda would thrive in the pods.

“As a fellow anxious-attachment girlie, I understand,” Alex added in her social media video. “This is Love Island [and] this is not Love Is Blind. Y’all are not getting married. Hell, he don’t even know if he wants to be your kid’s future stepfather. He would have gotten a lot of sh*t if he said that on Love Is Blind, but not Love Island — Love Island, this isn’t for that.”

Love Island USA airs every day but Wednesdays on Peacock. You can stream Love Is Blind on Netflix.
