The Golden Bachelor season 2 is already further along than Bachelor Nation expected, and there are signs that it’ll be similar to Gerry Turner’s disastrous season of the series since the show doesn’t care about its leads. Throughout The Golden Bachelor season 1, there was many wondered if the spin-off would be a one-time event. While Gerry and the cast of The Golden Bachelor were an exciting group and made a wonderful season of reality TV, many weren’t sure if the show was made for the type of longevity that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have been able to maintain.
Although it hasn’t been formally announced, after the success of The Golden Bachelorette, it’s clear that there will be another season of the original spin-off. As The Golden Bachelor season 2 grows closer, many have been speculating about who will lead the series, what the show will entail, and when Bachelor Nation will have the chance to see the series. With very few answers and even more questions coming into view, the series will be taking its time before it returns to ABC. Even with a delay, The Golden Bachelor season 2 already seems like it could be a disaster.
Although there’s quite a bit of time before The Golden Bachelor season 2 actually begins filming, there isn’t a lot of time to change the way the show maneuvers. The process of bringing The Golden Bachelor to life starts with the casting team, who are already getting started on finding the next group of ladies to invite to The Golden Bachelor. While the show has yet to announce its next lead, the casting of the women on the show is already underway, which means there isn’t much time for change.
Though there’s time before filming begins, the changes in the casting that Bachelor Nation has been looking for are things that would’ve had to start well before the casting process began. Now, with the show already casting and looking for people to date an unnamed Golden Bachelor lead, there’s no time for serious changes to be made. Despite knowing that B achelor Nation has been looking for a change, the series hasn’t left time to make improvements before its schedule ramps up.
Although The Golden Bachelor season 2 won’t begin filming until the summer of 2025, there hasn’t been any movement on things that Bachelor Nation have been looking for. Bachelor producers haven’t commented on any potential changes that Bachelor Nation was looking for, meaning the show likely won’t be very different than it was in the past. Viewers were hopeful that there could be some movement that would make up for the big issues seen in the casting of the first two seasons, but the spin-off likely won’t be something unlike Bachelor Nation has ever seen before.
Although Bachelor Nation hasn’t felt solid about the way that the production team seems to be pushing a more traditional ending within each season, both Gerry and Joan Vassos’ journeys ended in an engagement. The series has pushed fairytale endings for its leads and the contestants of their choice, and while Joan’s relationship with Chock Chapple is still standing, Gerry’s relationship with Theresa Nist crumbled after three months of marriage. The happily ever after endings of each season have confused Bachelor Nation, and could lead to problems for The Golden Bachelor in the long run.
