The Pittsburgh Steelers are busy retooling their roster ahead of free agency and April's NFL Draft. There will be roster questions on both sides of the ball, including quarterback.
As the offseason roster grows to 90, the team announced the addition of potential depth on defense.
The Steelers have signed former Los Angeles Rams corner Cameron McCutcheon to a reserves/future deal on Tuesday.
The Gardner-Webb product finished his 2018 freshman season with 14 total tackles and a forced fumble in 10 games. His numbers improved the following season to 54 tackles and three passes defended in 11 games.
In 2020, McCutcheon played just four games and registered 19 tackles and one interception. In 2021, he transferred to Western Carolina and played 11 games, posting 47 tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery.
In McCutcheon's final collegiate season in 2022, he had 32 tackles with four passes defended and a fumble recovery in 11 contests.
After going undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Rams before being a victim of final roster cuts before that season. He returned to the Rams practice squad after being unclaimed on waivers and was there until Nov. 21, when he was released again. He then signed back in Los Angeles on a futures deal last offseason.
