Stephen A. Smith tells Steelers starter to 'keep his mouth shut' after attacking Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh rumors

Typically, where there is smoke, there is fire in the NFL.

And right now, there's a lot of smoke surrounding Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Well, starting safety DeShon Elliott is trying to stop that fire before it ever gets going and Stephen A Smith isn't a fan of that...

Stephen A. Smith tells Steelers starter to 'keep his mouth shut' after attacking Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh rumors

DeShon Elliott Wants no part of Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh, SAS calls him out

"Leave his ass at the retirement home." Well I guess it's easy to see how Elliott, who is one of the more verbose players on the Steelers, feels about the rumors of A-Rod to Pittsburgh.

Turns out, Stephen A Smith wasn't a big fan of those comments...

"I respect DeShon Elliott. I like him on the Steelers, but he might need to keep his mouth shut, said Stephen A. on Wednesday's First Take . "Leave that to Mike, let Mike Tomlin say that. Let, let one of the executives say that. Or if you gonna let a player say it, let it be somebody like a T.J. Watt. I just don’t think that DeShon Elliott should have said what he said. I don’t think he’s in a position respectfully to say that kind of stuff."

Stephen A. makes a point, but I promise you the Steelers aren't taking DeShon Elliott's opinion into consideration. They are more likely to listen to George Pickens than they are Elliott. But T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward, and Minkah Fitzpatrick are the top three being asked, if at all regarding who plays QB in 2025.

It's worth at least pondering if Pittsburgh would be interested in bringing in Rodgers, especially if Russell Wilson is in fact on his way out, but he's not the player who broke the hearts of Steelers fans in the Super Bowl nearly a decade and a half ago.

So who knows what the Steelers plan to do at QB in 2025? If you listen to some recent reporting, even they are unsure of their plan. There is a new name nearly every day, and everything from a return of last year's two starters to a veteran free agent signing to a head-scratching draft pick is in play this offseason.
