Season nine of Summer House has come to an end, but the cast is still very much in the news. Recently, Gabby Prescod sat down for an interview where she discussed everything from Lindsay Hubbard‘s recent breakup to receiving criticism from West Wilson over not opening up enough.
Regarding Summer House season 10, it’s anyone’s guess what the future will hold. Not only did Paige DeSorbo announce her departure, but newbie Lexi Wood did the same. The show has also not been officially renewed for a new season yet, and rumors of a reboot are circulating.
Former Real Housewives of New York star Brynn Whitfield interviewed Gabby for her Please See Below podcast. One of the first notable topics arose when she asked Gabby when she learned that Lindsay was no longer romantically involved with Turner Kufe. She said, “Oh, yeah. In the winter.”
Gabby continued, “But I knew.” Brynn asked how she knew, and the Summer House star explained, “So I spend a lot of time with them. So we hang out a lot. And it was like over fall, things were getting like a little… I mean, she was also like in the last trimester of her pregnancy.”
She then said, “And [Lindsay] was like, I think, freaking out being like, if this baby is going to come, like, what are we going to do? Like, where is our relationship? Like, they were still not like moved in together. There was no clear plan. And so the baby came in December. Christmas happens, and Everything’s kind of good.”
Gabby went on, “And then, and they’re in that, like, kind of like new baby bliss situation. And he’s staying over, and he’s doing all the stuff. And then his paternity leave ends. And I think that that’s when it was kind of like, oh, things are getting real. Like, we kind of have to figure this out.”
She continued to explain, saying, “And then they were like, it’s not going to work because they were like, we have to figure out where to live. Like, he was moving. Her lease is up in June. And so she has to kind of make steps ahead in advance to figure out where she wants to move. And it was just like, okay, it’s not going to work. Like, this is not, as a couple, it’s not going to work.”
From there, Brynn and Gabby discussed their co-parenting arrangement and how Turner occasionally sleeps over. Regarding their relationship these days, Gabby says Lindsay and Turner are on great terms. She revealed, “I don’t think that either of them is like, really in the market to, like, date someone because they were still like figuring stuff out.”
She went on, “They’re also, like, oddly best friends. Like, the way that they interact, you would think that they are together. Like, they go out to lunch together. Like, she and I got lunch the day after the reunion, and she’s like, ‘Oh, Turner wants to come. He wants to hang out.’”
Brynn then asked if she thinks one is still in love with the other, and Gabby said, “No.”
From there, they discussed former Summer House cast member Danielle Olivera and how she questioned Lindsay returning to the show with a baby. Gabby reacted, saying, “I mean, I just think that it’s kind of insane. The insane thing about, like, ‘Oh, she has a baby now, so she can’t do this anymore?’ Okay, well, he’s a dad.”
She added, “You know, people, men have babies too, right? They don’t have them, but you’re a dad. Does that, and is there anyone that can ask like, ‘Oh, like if Kyle has a baby, is he gonna come back?’” Gabby continued, “So like, okay, yeah, are you gonna bring a baby to the house is like a different situation, not being like, because you’re a mom, you can’t do this.”
The two Bravo stars later discussed West and them having issues. According to Gabby, “West is very conflict-averse. So he’s never going to, like, say anything. Also, we’re saying things, like, in the moment or not saying things in the moment, and you watch it back and you’re like, ‘Whatever.’”
She went on, “So I think that there is a lot of that going on with him, and he actually came to my birthday party and he brought his mom, who is lovely. And I was, like, wasted at this point. I mean, it’s my birthday. Then I was like, but I have a bone to pick with you. And I, like, said it in front of his mom. I was like, my sister told me, because I haven’t been watching the season, that you said this about me.”
They then delved into the specifics of what West had said, which centered on his feeling that Gabby doesn’t share enough of her personal life. She reacted to this by saying, “I mean, here’s the thing, I’m never gonna date anyone in that house, ever.”
She continued, “I signed up to, like, show my life, and like, whatever that is. If whoever I am with or dating at the time isn’t comfortable with that, I’m not going to force them to do that. That’s their decision to make. So if they choose to film or not, it’s on them. I can’t force that.”
Both ladies then discussed getting the “ick” from seeing the partners of Bravo stars in confessionals on the various shows. She also stated that she and West are fine now.
Brynn also asked Gabby where she stands with Lexi. She responded, “Oh, I love Lexi. Yeah, we still talk. I was actually supposed to hang out with her. I’ve been traveling, but not fun traveling.”
