During Season 10, Episode 5 of Southern Charm, Taylor Ann Green turned 30 with her mom, Leslie, by her side. As they dined together, they got to talking about her brother, Richard Worthington "Worth" Green, who tragically passed away in 2023.
"For you to go through all this stuff in your 20s is really unfathomable," Leslie told her daughter, who had a hard time continuing on the tough topic. "Mama, I can't," Taylor said.
In a confessional, Taylor opened up more about her grief.
"Everything that I've been through has just been, kind of like, crazy. I have my ups and my downs," she said. "It's been about nine months since my brother's passing, and I think hitting this big milestone without a very key component in my life is going to be very tough."
Before their conversation ended, Leslie took a moment to tell her daughter how proud she is of her and how she's navigated the "horrible waters."
"I know that if Worth was here right now, he'd say, 'Baby girl, you're rocking it,'" she said.
How Taylor Ann Green's relationship with Gaston Rojas helped her work through grief
One person who has been by Taylor's side as she's navigated her feelings? Her boyfriend, Gaston Rojas.
"Gaston never got the chance to meet my brother, and he stepped in at a very scary moment," she added in her confessional. "And instead of running away, he said, 'Can I help you pick up the pieces?'"
In a flashback shown during the episode, Gaston told Taylor, "Your mom called me. Obviously this is a big one, the first [birthday] without your brother."
"Right now, I just try to not really think about it," Taylor responded. "But it's those moments where it's kind of quiet or, like, you really think about it..." As she began to cry, Gaston walked over to hug her and said, "Sorry, baby."
Taylor Ann Green reflects on her first birthday following the passing of her brother
Taylor is someone who doesn't love celebrating to begin with, so having to ring in a milestone birthday without her big brother was already proving difficult. With that in mind, Taylor was planning to cancel her 30th birthday party.
"You know, I've never been a big celebrator. I was so pissed off at Worth when he did the big surprise party," she told her mom.
"And that was your 27th! It wasn't even a big [one]. If he was here, he'd be so excited about it," Leslie said. "Baby girl, turning 30. You know, it would be such a big deal. And in honor of him, you need to have a special day."
Ultimately, however, Taylor decided to cancel the party.
