1980s pop star Taylor Dayne made a surprise appearance the Senior Prom on The Golden Bachelorette. Rumors are swirling that she might be the lead for the second season. Keep reading for all the details.
80s Pop Star Plays At Prom
What’s a prom without music? ABC tapped singer Taylor Dayne to perform at the senior prom Joan Vassos attended with several of her Golden Bachelorette suitors on a recent episode.
The singer performed her chart-topping hits “Tell It To My Heart” and “Love Will Lead You Back.” She serenaded Joan and her Prom King, Jonathan Rone, with the second ballad. Taylor Dayne told The U.S. Sun after the episode aired that she was grateful for the opportunity
“There were long days, 16 hours on set, but it turned out great. But for me to be on the show was a natural fit. I was in high school during the 80s, so it was all about memories and the soundtrack of people’s lives.”
Taylor Dayne Dated One Of Joan’s Suitors
Her appearance was a surprise but the surprise was also on her. One of Joan Vassos’ suitors, Jordan Heller, revealed that he dated Taylor Dayne years ago. She didn’t remember him exactly, but said it was likely true.
She told The Sun, “He said we met at a coffee shop in Chicago once in the early days of internet dating. I couldn’t remember that, but being on the show was fun. I loved it.”
Taylor Dayne In Talks For Next Golden Bachelorette?
Taylor Dayne is an avid Golden Bachelorette viewer. She told the outlet that she loves watching the show with her daughter. She welcomed twins, Astaria and Levi, via surrogacy in 2003.
The singer was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2021. She immediately underwent life-saving surgery that resulted in the removal of 10 inches of her colon. She told PEOPLE magazine last month that the experience was “humbling.”
“The gratitude is immeasurable. I weighed 98 pounds by the end of my treatment. And I even walked weird. But that’s one trial and tribulation. That’s not the story.”
Taylor Dayne has never been married. Could she look for love on The Golden Bachelorette? The singer, 62, told The U.S. Sun that the possibility came up when she was a guest on the show.
“I told [the producers] I had a boyfriend. But they pointed out there was no ring on my finger, so I just said, ‘Listen, guys, whatever. I never say never.’ “
