From getting told to stay away by a baby daddy to getting a judge to make your court case private, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…
Amber Portwood Says Gary Shirley Told Her She’s Not Allowed to Spend Time with Their Daughter Leah
Amber has been logging onto TikTok Live several times a day for weeks— after taking a long break from social media— and during one of her many (many) TikTok Live sessions, the ‘Teen Mom’ star revealed the sad state of her relationship with her daughter Leah (as well as her baby daddy Gary).
As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Amber and Gary share 16-year-old daughter Leah; however, over the last few years Amber’s relationship with Leah has been strained, although Gary has worked hard to encourage mother and daughter to repair their relationship. Last month, however, it was reported that Gary and Amber’s once solid co-parenting relationship had recently soured.
“For a long time, they had a great relationship and considered each other to be extended family. But now, it’s getting rocky again,” a source told Us Weekly, before revealing that the strain is reportedly due, in part, to Gary accusing Amber of not paying him child support for Leah “for years.”
Gary is reportedly considering taking Amber to court to get back payment of the support she allegedly owes. (Amber denied that there was any truth to this, stating she has “receipts” that she has paid her child support.)
Still, when Amber was asked earlier this week during a TikTok Live if she sees Leah, she revealed that she is not being permitted to do so.
“Here’s a secret guys, not only have I tried to see my daughter but I was told by her father that I was not allowed to come get her,” Amber said, before adding that, since she’s filming for the upcoming season of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’, viewers will get to see how things play out by watching the show. She also promised that some surprising truths would be revealed.
“I can’t say anything else,” Amber said. “I can’t say anything else right now. Even though it’s not out yet…when you watch the show coming out and you guys will be able to see some things you probably never knew.”
On the same Live, Amber was asked by a fan about the child support she allegedly owes Gary.
“That’s not true. I pay mine, guys,” she replied.
As of press time, there doesn’t appear to be any open court cases regarding child support between Gary and Amber.
