‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Bar Smith Is Once Again Wanted by The Law; Jenelle Evans Is Once Again Open to Having Kids

From being in trouble with the law to being open to spawning more kids, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Warrant Issued for Arrest of Bar Smith for Not Complying with Terms of His Probation 

Bar is once again on the wrong side of the law.

The legally challenged ‘Teen Mom 2’ dad— who was released from jail in March after spending more than seven months behind bars— currently has a warrant out for his arrest in Nevada.

As The Ashley previously told you, the baby daddy of Ashley Jones was sentenced to six months in jail (which he had already served), and one year of informal probation as part of a plea deal he accepted in February. Bar pleaded “nolo contendere” to a misdemeanor charge of “battery constituting domestic violence” and had the rest of felony charges  —which stemmed from his July 2024 arrest for allegedly holding Ashley hostage in her Las Vegas apartment— dismissed.

As part of his probation terms, Bar had to avoid any more charges and “negative” contact with Ashley…and take parenting classes, substance abuse evaluations and therapy. It appears that Bar has not followed through on the parenting classes and therapy he was required to take— or, at least, he hasn’t been able to prove that he has done so.

According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Bar had a probation requirement “Status Check” hearing on May 29. He was not present, as he is currently living in California, but was supposed to be beamed into the hearing via Zoom. However, Bar’s lawyer told the court that Bar was “having issues logging into Zoom.” Bar’s attorney stated that Bar confirmed to him that he had done the therapy and parenting classes he was required to do.

“However, he did not have proof,” the minutes from the hearing state. “Court noted that it needed the proof of the classes by the next hearing. If there was no proof and [Bar] was still not present, then it would issue a bench warrant.” 

Bar’s next scheduled hearing was June 10. It appears that he did not produce what the judge asked him to produce, as the judge issued a bench warrant that same day for Bar’s arrest. 

There is currently an arrest warrant out in Henderson, Nevada for Bar, with the reason listed as “Failure to Pay.” His bail amount for that is listed as $2190, but it is unknown if the two warrants are related.

As of press time, Bar does not appear to be in custody in Nevada.

Jenelle Evans Says She’d Be Willing to Have More Kids for the Right Man 

Jenelle may have tied up her baby-makin’ pipes years ago, but the fired ‘Teen Mom’ star says she could be persuaded to spawn again…should the right convicted felon new soulmate come her way.

While making the rounds to promote her cringetastic “Divorce Party” in NYC last week, Jenelle stated that she is open to having more kids if she ended up with a man who wanted children of his own. The mother of three told E! News that, since her tubes are tied, she would have to go the scientific route to procreate again.

“My tubes are tied,” she said. “I mean, if I dated somebody and they didn’t have kids and they really wanted kids, I would consider IVF.”

(Interestingly, Jenelle’s former ‘Teen Mom’ co-star Mackenzie Douthit just gave birth to twins that were conceived via IVF because Mack had her tubes tied after having her third child years ago.)

Jenelle hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to mothering. She has lost custody of all of her kids at various points in their lives, although she currently has custody of all three kids. (She recently attempted to send her eldest son Jace to live with his father Andrew Lewis— who was absent for nearly all of Jace’s life. However, the 15-year-old only lasted with his dad a few weeks and is once again residing in Casa de Jenelle in Vegas.)

Back in April, Jenelle caused quite a commotion online when she wrote that she has to “force” herself to be a mother while attempting to defend herself for calling 911 on Jace.

“This post refers to all my business I’ve been doing lately and just getting behind because I force myself to be a mother before anything else, like I always have,” she wrote.

In her new interview with E! Jenelle stated that, although she is open to having more kids, “as of right now, I do not want anymore.”

Still, Jenelle insisted that whatever man she makes into her next soulmate must love children.

“If they’re not okay with my kids, that’s the number one thing I get out of the way,” she said. “…I’m looking for stability. I want him to have his career together and be ambitious—know what they want in life and family-oriented.

“He has to be a complete gentleman,” Jenelle insisted. “My standards are so high now. I want him to open my door, I want him to greet me with flowers. It’s going to take a lot to impress me now.”

Jade Cline Gives Her Thoughts on ‘Teen Mom’ Possibly Ending; Reveals She Taking in Twin Foreign Exchange Students

MTV still hasn’t given fans (or their cast) any definite answers regarding if ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ will return for another season, but Jade says she’s not worried if the show has (finally) come to an end.

Jade is one of the only cast members who actually works a “regular” job. (Technically, she works two off-camera jobs: running her own hair salon and working as a real estate agent.)

She recently stated on TikTok that she and her family are not currently filming, and that she is fine if it stays that way.

“I’m honestly happy either way,” she said. “If the show’s done, I’m cool with that. If the show continues, you know, I’m cool with that too. I feel like we have a lot of things going on in life and it’s honestly the last thing I’m thinking of.”

Jade reiterated that she and her husband Sean Austin are just as much in the dark about the future of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ as the fans are.

“We aren’t filming anything right now, and I’m just super-focused on the salon and real estate and doing the [house] flips that we’re doing,” she said. “So we stay pretty busy anyway. We really don’t know what’s going on with the show.”

Jade also recently revealed on TikTok that she and Sean are taking in twin foreign exchange students in August. She stated that the twins’ parents are very aware that she is on a reality show and she’s not sure how that will be navigated if ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ does, indeed, get another season.

“We were really transparent with what our careers were,” she said. “We went into complete detail on everything we do career-wise about the show, about filming, about how we film in our house. Everything like that. The [twins’] parents are aware of our careers and we’ve been super-open and honest, but one thing we really wanted to emphasis is that if we are filming, it’s not a requirement to film or be a part of anything we do related to the show to be welcome in our home.

“Filming for a show is a lot, and I would totally understand someone not wanting to be a part of it,” she added.
