Catelynn Baltierra has long shared her story on the Teen Mom franchise — she was 16 when she gave birth to her biological daughter Carly, whom she placed for adoption — and she has been extremely vocal on social media, advocating for birth moms for years.
However, the 32-year-old MTV star has also repeatedly called out Carly's parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, claiming that they are blocking her and husband Tyler Baltierra from speaking to their biological daughter. (The Baltierras and Davises had an open adoption plan in place at Carly's 2009 birth; Catelynn and Tyler have also had semi-annual visits with Carly, now 15, for years.)
Catelynn has been blasting the Davises on social media for months — in September 2024, she shared months-worth of screenshots of texts from her to Teresa, which have seemingly gone unanswered — and now, she's revealing what Brandon and Teresa have finally said to her amid all the drama.

"They definitely have 100 percent closed the adoption," the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star told E! News in an interview published on Monday, January 27. "I'm still blocked and they recently told me to quit sending gifts because it was inappropriate and uncalled for, just a whole bunch of things."
Catelynn further admitted that her and Tyler's relationship with Carly's parents is "still not in a very good place."
"We've asked her parents and continue to do so, 'Is it Carly not wanting contact?'' the 16 and Pregnant alum explained. "Because if it's Carly not wanting contact, it would hurt, but we would understand and say, 'Hey, if you ever want to have it, we're here and we totally understand that all of this could be hard for you.'"
Both Catelynn and Tyler — who also share three other daughters — have repeatedly echoed this sentiment.
In September 2024, Tyler took to social media to share the exact same thoughts. "There are only 2 possible scenarios here, 50/50: 1. It's Carly's decision to cease communication (which we would respect COMPLETELY & wouldn't even need to address it publicly) OR 2. Carly desires to keep access open to communication, but can't because of her parents," Tyler wrote at the time. "[And] for the sole possibility that it could be scenario 2, then I believe it is my duty to fight my hardest to get her the information & access that she deserves."
As Teen Mom fans know, the Baltierras have had a rocky relationship with Brandon and Teresa for years — particularly after Tyler shared a photo of Carly online in 2015 against the Davises' wishes.
The Baltierras and the Davises appeared to put the drama aside in 2023, when Catelynn, Tyler and all three of their daughters spent time with Carly. The Teen Mom stars shared a black-and-white photo walking with Carly and younger daughters Nova, Vaeda, and Rya — shot from behind; Carly's face was not captured in the photo.
The immediate before and after of the emotional visit was captured for Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
"Adoption is hard and saying goodbye time and time again is soooo hard," Catelynn lamented at the time. "But seeing all of our girls together, getting to know Carly deeper and deeper each time and being with all four of our daughters is truly such a blessing."
