Jade Cline and Sean Austin are welcoming two teenagers into their family.
The Teen Mom: The Next Chapter stars are excitedly preparing to be a host family, along with daughter Kloie, 7½, in a program offered through her school.
Jade, 28, discussed the process in a series of TikTok videos, explaining how it will work.
"We signed up to host at the beginning of the school year. My daughter's school is an international school, so they have multi-language, multicultural immersion. There are a handful of students that come from out of the country to get an education at her school," Jade said.
Noting that Kloie is now bilingual in Spanish, their pride in the school and its values made them interested in hosting. The process involved sharing photos and videos of their home, as well as details about each family member and the household.
"About two weeks ago, we got an email saying that our family was selected along with another family. So we set up a Zoom call with the children and their parents," she explains.
The student who selected them happens to be a twin. When offered the opportunity to take one or both kids, the couple was excited to extend their home to both.
"Sean, being an identical twin, was like, 'We have to take both. We can't just take one,' so we told her that yes, we would be open to taking both. We wanted to meet the children and the parents, so they set up an interview with our family and another family."
During the discussion, Jade and Sean offered insight on what life is like in their family, household rules and expectations and more. Despite the fact that they were excited to get to know the kids, the couple worried that because "we're younger and have a lot of tattoos, maybe they won't pick us."
"The next morning, I get up and I'm going through my email like I do every day... We got an email and in the email, she says the parents and the students chose our home."
The families are continuing to get to know each other as they prepare to welcome the students later this summer.
"We are over the moon. We cannot wait to have both of the 15 year old twins. Sometimes students go back home for break, but they're not going to go back to China until summer break. They'll go back with their parents, so we will have them all year — throughout our family vacations, breaks, throughout the holidays. They'll be with us the whole time."
"Me, Sean, and especially Kloie are so ecstatic to have them," she continued. "She's an only child, so this is going to give her a whole new perspective. And I love the fact that we're going to have older kids here that are really great role models for her."
In the comments, castmate Kristina Shirley shared her excitement for the family and revealed that they, too, have hosted students in their home.
"How AMAZING!! Gary and I did this a few years ago. We had two girls, 1 from spain and 1 from Italy. It was a great and rewarding experience for our whole family," she wrote, adding, "The worst part was sending them back home after a year. I’m SO excited for you guys to experience this. ♥️."
In a follow-up video, Jade responded to fans who asked how those students might fit into filming the reality series. Their recent season just wrapped up, with the future of the show unknown at this time.
Explaining they were "really transparent about what our careers are and went into complete detail," Jade said that, as it is for anyone in her family, "Filming would not be a requirement."
"Filming for a show is a lot and I would totally understand someone not wanting to be a part of it. But like I said, we are not filming right now. So if we started filming in the future, that would be a conversation we would have with them and their parents."
Admitting she also doesn't "know what's going on with the show," Jade said she's excited to focus on this new adventure for her family, while continuing to build her salon and real estate businesses.
