Amber Portwood’s fiancé, Gary Wayt, has been found after a multi-day search.
On Friday, the Bryson City Police Department revealed on Facebook that Wayt was “located” and the case was officially “closed.” However, they did not share any additional information.
The update came just a few days after the 39-year-old was seen on video surveillance in Oklahoma — hundreds of miles from where he was last seen with Portwood in North Carolina.
Police obtained footage of Wayt driving on a highway in the Sooner State and got confirmation that he stopped at a Verizon store.
Portwood first reported Wayt missing on Monday — just a few days after news of their engagement.
The “Teen Mom” star, who last saw him on Sunday, later revealed on YouTube that his disappearance was completely out of the blue and she was extremely “worried” about him.
“This is a huge deal, his parents, everybody is very worried. I am worried,” she said
“There was not a big blowout fight or anything like that, OK? He is a missing person right now.”
Although she denied speculation they got into an “explosive argument,” she admitted they had an “emotional” conversation about his Vietnamese heritage.
The mother of two explained that Wayt left the home they were staying at with his keys and wallet but didn’t take his phone, which was an immediate red flag because his car doesn’t have GPS.
“We are in the mountains,” she explained. “He has never driven in the mountains. We are very scared right now.”
She also noted that Wayt has “mental health issues” but did not disclose any details.
Insiders told Us Weekly the pair were visiting North Carolina for a wedding when they “had a conversation that turned emotional.”
Although Portwood hoped he was driving back to their home in Indiana, she became increasingly worried when he never arrived.
While Portwood had people in Indiana watching out for Wayt, she stayed back in North Carolina in hopes he would return.
The couple met in 2023 on a dating app and got engaged a few weeks before Wayt’s disappearance.
An insider told Us Weekly at the time that Portwood was “really, really happy” about taking the next step with Wayt.
They even started going to couples therapy to build a strong foundation for their marriage.
While it’s unclear if Wayt has any children, the MTV star is mom to daughter Leah, 15, with ex Gary Shirley and son James, 6, whom she shares with ex Andrew Glennon.
