Despite backlash, Jenelle continues to prioritize clout and financial gain above all, and doesn’t seem to understand why some fans are worried for her kids. If she doesn’t stop, then someone needs to intervene.
“Kaiser was at the park and basically some group of kids came up to him and they roughed him up a little and threw him off the bike and stole his bike. And they also took his money that he had in his wallet which was like fifty bucks,” August said.
He claims they called the police and re-visited the park so Kaiser could walk them through what happened. “The police advised us to go to local middle schools and high schools and look at the bike racks to see if one of the kids rode the bikes to school,” August continued.
Following August’s comments, Jenelle faced backlash on social media for making the situation public. There was concern that one of August and Jenelle's first instincts was to post about it online, not comfort Kaiser. “Dang Jenelle, I like you, but this is monetizing your child,” one person wrote on a Facebook post Jenelle made talking about the robbery. Another FB user questioned, “Why is she using this for content?”

Jenelle faced criticism a few months ago for a separate incident involving Kaiser. The 16 and Pregnant alum revealed online she was taking her middle child to live with his paternal grandmother in a different state. Kaiser apparently didn’t know he was going to be staying with her indefinitely until Jenelle left. However, the reality star clearly regretted her decision, as she went back to retrieve her son within a few days after the online backlash.
“A lot of my son’s actions [are] being pinned against me and I’m getting a lot of hate, a lot of comments… My son has been having a hard time for the past two, three years.”
Ironically, Jenelle said she was trying to keep things offline, though she was effectively sharing Jace’s business at the same time. “None of this has gone public because we’re trying to keep his privacy.”
In a more recent update, it appears Jace was removed from Jenelle’s custody after a nasty fight. The reality star made a 911 call, in which she said she was scared for her other kids with Jace in the house. While he’s reportedly being cared for somewhere safe, he’s seemingly no longer in Jenelle’s house, though that’s one subject she hasn’t commented on (and may be legally barred from doing so).
Jenelle should know better than to expose her kids online, considering what she’s been through. She’s been sharing her life publicly since she was a teenager. While the fame from Teen Mom created many opportunities, especially financial ones, there are consequences to fame. Not only has Jenelle’s every move and mistake been documented, but they’ve also been open to public criticism, and Teen Mom fans have rarely been kind to her online.
In addition to backlash and hateful comments, Jenelle has had her fair share of trolls, which can’t be easy to deal with. Her haters have gone so far as to intervene in brand deals and get her collabs canceled. It could be argued that the negative publicity Jenelle has endured has contributed to her struggles – and it could be why she chose to seclude herself on a huge property with David Eason for many years during her hiatus from Teen Mom.
But by not shielding her kids from social media, Jenelle is putting them in the same situation. It’s true that she can’t control what people say online, and she’s not responsible for the hateful comments people make. But she does have control over how much her kids are online. Any time she posts about them, she’s opening them up to the same critics, haters, and trolls she says have hurt her so badly.

There’s so much more Jenelle could be doing to protect her children’s privacy online. Instead, she seems more concerned with staying relevant and making a quick buck online. And if she thinks a post about her kid will go viral, she seems willing to make it, even if it could have long-term consequences for her kids. Jace, Kaiser, and Ensley may have been born on TV – literally, their births were filmed – but they’ve never consented to having their entire personal lives spilled online for entertainment.
