‘Teen Mom’ Tyler Baltierra Shares Huge Adoption Update

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star, Tyler Baltierra is sharing a huge adoption update regarding the daughter he and his wife, Catelynn Lowell gave up as teens. Their journey to make this decision was documented on 16 & Pregnant and they have struggled ever since. So, what is Tyler saying now, nearly sixteen years after the fact? Tyler Baltierra Shares Huge Adoption Update

When Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell found out they were expecting as teenagers, they had a choice to make. They grew up in toxic households and knew they did not want the same for their baby. Therefore, they opted for adoption despite their parents’ objections. Their daughter, Carly went to Brandon and Teresa Davis via an open adoption and it seemed like it would be fair. They would get to see Carly and get updates as she progressed. She was there when Tyler and Cate got married and was able to meet her siblings but then, things shifted.

Over the last year, Brandon and Teresa have cut off communication and do chose not to have their yearly visit with the couple. Tyler and Cate were blown away that they would not see Carly for her fifteenth birthday. Therefore, they took it to the Internet and Catelynn vented her frustrations all over social media. She was blocked by Carly’s adoptive parents and fans did understand it some. They felt that the couple needed to back off, stop sending so many photos and gifts, and let the family breathe. Finally, it seems they have changed their ways.

Tyler Baltierra shared an update on what he and Catelynn Lowell have chosen to do regarding Carly going forward. In the latest episode of Teen Mom, they met with Dawn Baker, their adoption counselor. They needed advice as to what to do since they were up against a wall. As of now, they are listening to Dawn and will cease sending gifts and updates to Carly. Rather, they have created an email for her and will ultimately give her the password so she can read their words.

Using Their Voice

Tyler Baltierra just tried to support his wife whereas Catelynn Baltierra was enraged. She could not stop messaging and sending updates and gifts. More so, she told Dawn she would not give up but it came to a point where she had to back off a bit. Now, they are actively using their voices to share their experience and raise awareness. This year, Carly will turn sixteen so in two years, she will be able to freely reach out to them. For now, it is all about helping those who need to find those who are looking for a similar community. Maybe that will help Tyler and Catelynn heal some.
