Kailyn Lowry, former Teen Mom star, is preparing to go under the knife once again, this time to address her double chin. In a recent episode of iHeartRadio’s Coffee Convos podcast, Lowry, 33, shared with fans that she’ll soon be undergoing neck surgery to help eliminate the area she’s been self-conscious about for years.
“I’m getting my neck chopped off in two weeks,” Kailyn said in a candid moment, adding that she is holding off on Botox until after the procedure. She also shared her concerns about the impact it could have on her tattoo, admitting that it might “move” and no longer be visible after the surgery. Despite these concerns, Lowry expressed her excitement for the results. “I’m really excited to have a snatched jawline,” she said with enthusiasm.
While Lowry has been open about her plastic surgery procedures in the past, she humorously noted that despite not having a double chin when sitting up straight, she still struggles with it from certain angles. “Sometimes I have three,” she joked, referring to how angles can affect her appearance. However, she’s hopeful that the surgery will offer a permanent solution to her concerns. “It will completely remove my double chin, though there’s always a chance it could come back,” she explained.
Lowry was also candid about the long-term possibilities, joking, "There’s a chance I could need another one in 20 years. Hopefully, I’ll be taking a dirt nap by then!” Her openness about the future and her humorous approach to the situation resonated with fans who appreciate her honesty.
Kailyn has been transparent with her followers about various surgeries over the years. Most recently, she took to social media to share her experience recovering from a tummy tuck revision and breast reduction surgery. During her recovery, she shared an update in a TikTok video, explaining how she was managing pain and discomfort while focusing on healing.
“I’m trying to taper down on pain meds, don’t want to get addicted,” she said. “I’m severely uncomfortable, but I’m getting around. I’m just a little uncomfortable.” She also clarified that while she did not undergo a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), she did experience bruising from the procedure, particularly around her buttocks, where she combined her tummy tuck with a C-section scar revision.
Throughout all of this, Kailyn has been open about the mental health challenges she’s faced, especially in relation to body dysmorphia. Earlier this year, she shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing concern for her children’s body image. “I pray that my kids never struggle with their body image enough to mutilate their bodies to be skinny,” she said. “I think a little nip and tuck, like a nose job or a boob job, is OK, but to go through this to be skinny is a mental illness, truly.”
She also reflected on her own struggles during the holiday season, acknowledging how far she was willing to go to feel a certain way about herself. “I was willing to go to any length and do this over Christmas break to be skinny—even if that meant Elijah couldn’t be there for me,” she shared, referring to her ex-partner. “I was willing to do whatever it took.”
Kailyn’s openness about her personal struggles and her commitment to improving her self-image has resonated with many fans who appreciate her vulnerability. As she continues to be open about her journey, it’s clear that she’s striving to be the best version of herself, not just for her followers, but for her children as well.
In addition to her growing family, which includes her sons Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, Creed, and Rio, Kailyn has welcomed twins Verse and Valley in 2024, adding to her already busy and evolving life.
