Terence Crawford is currently gearing up for the biggest fight of his life against Canelo at super-middleweight in Las Vegas.
Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford will hope to achieve greatness yet again and claim all of the super-middleweight marbles with a win over Canelo Alvarez this September.
Crawford remains undefeated, and faced Israil Madrimov in a close fight last time out in the super-welterweight division.
Ahead of his fight, Crawford was seen wrestling with none other than Nico Ali Walsh, Muhammad Ali‘s grandson.
Terence Crawford slams Nico Ali Walsh to the ground in playful wrestling
Nico Ali Walsh, grandson to the legendary Muhammad Ali and boxer in his own right, was seen messing around with Crawford recently, engaging in games and drills like tapping one another’s shoulders and wrestling.
In one clip, Crawford and Ali are locked together, with Ali claiming Crawford is unable to slam him.
Bud, who claims he’d have beaten Carl Froch, proves himself, dropping the 11-2 boxer to the ground.
Ali gets up and the pair smile and laugh over the incident. Bud has a wrestling background in his youth, and so many were left unsurprised that he was able to drop the naturally bigger man.
One fan even suggested Crawford, who Roy Jones believes can beat Canelo, could’ve been a UFC champion if he’d focused on wrestling as much as he does boxing.
“He could’ve been a champ in UFC if he dedicated his time – Midwestern Wrestling, cornfed strength, athleticism, and elite boxing.”
Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez have one opponent in common
Ahead of their match-up, it is hard to find any common opponents between Crawford and Canelo given their weight disparity, though there is one.
Amir Khan faced Canelo and Crawford just three years apart.
Below is when both men fought him, how they fared, and Khan‘s record at the time of the encounter.
