TERRELL EDMUNDS MAKES INSTANT IMPACT WITH LAS VEGAS RAIDERS DEFENSE

WATCH: Raiders' Recently Signed S Terrell Edmunds Speaks Following Camp

Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Terrell Edmunds is quickly making his presence felt after signing with the team. The 26-year-old safety, who joined the Raiders this offseason, is embracing his new role in a system under defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and head coach Pete Carroll. Edmunds, a former first-round pick, is bringing both his leadership and versatility to the Raiders’ defense, determined to prove he’s an asset from day one.

Upon entering the Raiders' facility for the first time, Edmunds knew he had a bit of catching up to do. The rest of the defensive backs had been in the building since April, but Edmunds didn’t let that delay hold him back. He came in with the same mindset that’s defined his career: be a sponge, learn quickly, and work harder than anyone else.

Edmunds is known for his versatility, a trait that’s highly valuable in Graham’s defensive system. Whether it’s playing at safety or anywhere else on the field, Edmunds is more than willing to do whatever it takes to contribute. As he stated, “Wherever they want me to go, I just go out there and help out the best way I can.” His attitude is exactly what the Raiders need as they aim to build a tough, adaptable secondary.

The mental side of the game is just as important to Edmunds as the physical. Learning the playbook and understanding the system is crucial, but success ultimately depends on how well a player adapts to the specific needs of the defense. Edmunds has been putting in the hours, staying at the facility and studying diligently. “Nothing for me to do at the hotel anyway,” he joked about his commitment to preparation.

A key factor in Edmunds’ transition has been the influence of Pete Carroll’s coaching style. Having played under multiple legendary coaches, Edmunds describes Carroll’s approach as “unique”—a perfect mix of high energy, constant competition, and relentless positivity. Whether leading the team in energetic drills or jogging the length of the field, Carroll’s style has left a lasting impact on Edmunds and the rest of the Raiders defense.

One example that stood out for Edmunds was a tip-ball competition at practice. Though he came up short, the focus wasn’t on the loss—it was about the message: compete every day, bring energy, and be ready at all times. That’s the mentality Carroll expects, and Edmunds is embracing it fully.

As the season progresses, Edmunds is focused on one thing: earning trust and letting his performance speak for itself. If his work ethic, adaptability, and energy during training camp are any indication, the Raiders’ secondary is on the rise. Now, the real test will be when the lights come on and the games count—can this new-look secondary rise to the challenge? Time will tell
