The Bachelor star Kelsey Anderson expressed how scary it is to see up close the wildfires ravaging Southern California right now. Kelsey and her fiancé Joey Graziadei haven't been living there for very long. After The Bachelor season 28, they lived in New Orleans, then found a temporary place to live while Joey competed on Dancing With The Stars. Now they're finally settling in to their own home in Los Angeles while still trying to beat back rumors that they're on the verge of breaking up, which could be heightened again after they revealed their wedding won't happen anytime soon.
The Bachelor's Kelsey Anderson is scared as she witnesses the fires raging in California.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kelsey posted a photo from her car that showed the sky filled with smoke and orange haze from the flames in the distance. She added a caption that said she "woke up this morning to what looks like the world is ending." Kelsey has never experienced something like this before, and it's "very terrifying to see up close." Her thoughts are with everyone whose lives have been upended by the horrendous fires, and she's "thankful for our first responders."
Joey also posted his own Instagram Stories about the fires. His first message echoed Kelsey's sentiment that they're thinking about everyone who's been affected by this tragedy and also thanking the first responders, whom he called "true heros [sic]." Later on, he shared a photo from a plane sitting on the airport tarmac, with smoke in the distance; he called the situation "crazy" and told everyone to "stay safe."
What California Fires Mean For Kelsey & Joey's New Living Situation
Kelsey & Joey Haven't Had To Evacuate Their Home
The fires that have been blazing in California in recent days have been devastating. Since Kelsey and Joey live in Los Angeles, they're able to witness the tragedy firsthand. Kelsey's Instagram Story photo showed a gas station next to the road she was driving on. It's unclear how far away from home this photo was taken, or how close the fires themselves are to the Bachelor stars' home. There have been reports of evacuations in the affected areas, including celebrities who have had to vacate their houses in order to stay safe.
Since neither Kelsey nor Joey mentioned anything about how the fires are personally affecting them, it could be assumed that they live far enough away that they don't need to evacuate. Wildfires are a common natural disaster in California, and with Kelsey and Joey being new residents to the Golden State, this is one devastation that they will likely keep witnessing year after year, though it's shocking to see these fires blazing right now in the middle of winter, but the Santa Ana winds are the presumed culprit.
Our Take On Kelsey & Joey Witnessing Terrifying California Fires
Kelsey Will Likely Keep Her Followers Updated
There are various natural disasters that have a greater impact depending on where you live. Kelsey knows this firsthand since she's from Louisiana, a state that has to deal with hurricanes. Hopefully, Kelsey and Joey are staying safe, though it looks like the latter has headed out of town. Kelsey will, no doubt, keep her followers updated in the coming days if the situation at home becomes much worse.
The Bachelor season 29 premieres January 27 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
