The Denver Broncos are heading into the offseason with a lot of momentum. They punched their ticket to the AFC playoffs in 2024, even though no one had that type of outlook for them ahead of the year.
Now, they head into 2025 with the goal to build off of their success. The Broncos have to like what they saw from their 2024 first-round pick, Bo Nix, during his rookie season. Their selection in the first round of 2025 should certainly be to support their QB and help him take the sophomore leap we've seen from so many great QBs in the past. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has them doing precisely that.
Broncos land Michigan star TE Colston Loveland in a new 2025 NFL mock draft

"The Denver Broncos hit on Bo Nix last year, and now they enter his second season committed to bolstering the talent around him. Colston Loveland is a special tight end that thrives on scramble drills, with Nix's ability to create space with his legs, he and Loveland would form a solid duo."
Many believe the jackpot at the tight end position in the 2025 NFL Draft is Tyler Warren. And for some teams in the league, he might very well be the top TE in the class, but that won't be the case for all 32. Depending on the role they are looking to fill, Michigan's Colston Loveland has a solid argument to be the top TE in the class. The Broncos, for example, I think Loveland would be a better fit than Warren.
Loveland's ability as a pass catcher is undervalued due to him not having elite production at Michigan. In 2023, their run-heavy system and their atrocious QB play in 2024 limited the impact he could have. His route running and high football IQ make him arguably the best safety blanket option at the TE position in this year's class. This would be a welcomed addition to Nix and head coach Sean Payton's offense. If he is on the board at pick 20, I think he should be considered a top option for the pick. The idea of stealing Loveland from their divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, due to Jim Harbaugh's past with Loveland would also be icing on the cake.
