The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Filming Schedule Revealed As "Producer Plant" Mark Anderson's Red Flags Threaten To Derail Spin-Off

The filming schedule for The Golden Bachelor season 2 has now been revealed, courtesy of a recent casting call. Speculation has been swirling in recent weeks over who will succeed Gerry Turner and snag the lead role for the sophomore season. Mark Anderson's name has been talked about the most, though accusations that he's a producer plant could doom his chances. He's not the only Golden Bachelorette season 1 contestant with red flags, though. Pascal Ibgui's ego might be too much for producers to handle. Guy Gansert once had a restraining order filed against him by his ex-wife.

The Golden Bachelor season 2 lead hasn't been announced yet, but ABC has revealed when the upcoming season will film.

According to a cast application form on Bachelor NationThe Golden Bachelor season 2 will film from June to August 2025. Casting is currently underway for next season, and women wanting to become contestants can fill out an extensive application to be considered. On the form, producers asked a ton of questions. They want to know applicants' income level; if they've been married before; how important race, political views and religion are when looking for a partner; and why their previous relationships ended.

Some of the more interesting questions on the application form involve criminal records, including, "Have you ever been arrested, charged or convicted of a crime of any type?Producers also want to know if applicants have had a temporary restraining order issued against someone else or if one was filed against them. This is meant to address the issue that came up with Guy. Another question asked the applicant to choose one man from The Golden Bachelorette they want to date.

Outside of these more formal questions about previous relationships, if they have children and whether they have a criminal record, there are also broader future-looking questions, which allow applicants to envision the kind of relationship they're looking for on The Golden Bachelor. One of the questions bluntly asks if they're "genuinely looking for love." The Golden Bachelor is a reality TV, after all, and a lot of people try to join reality shows for fame above everything else.

Similar questions ask why they would be a "great fit" for The Golden Bachelor and to describe their "ideal mate" when it comes to both physical and personality attraction. Finally, to tie everything back in with the filming schedule, producers also want to make sure contestants have a passport that's valid at least until August 2025, possibly confirming that there will be at least one international trip next season. There's also a separate form to fill out if a person wants to nominate someone they know.

What The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Casting Call Means

Producers Don't Want To Be Caught Off Guard By Contestants' Scandals

The Golden Bachelorette’s Joan Vassos, Pascal Ibgui and Mark Anderson look serious.

When casting reality TV stars, producers want to know a lot about the people they consider during the casting process. They don't want to be caught off guard when skeletons in their closet end up surfacing online. Some scandalous info will inevitably slip by them and then be exposed on the Internet for all to see. It's still important to ask these invasive questions, like their criminal records.

Similarly, producers don't want to be caught off guard when it comes to the motives behind the contestants. That's why the form asks if the applicant is "genuinely" looking for love. Obviously, people might lie and say they really are looking for love when, in reality, they just want more social media followers or to use their Golden Bachelor fame to create a big career. It's one thing for Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson to genuinely fall in love and then become influencers, and a completely separate issue to cast someone whose sole mission is to become an influencer.

What The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Filming Schedule Means

The Golden Shows Will Trade Off Every Year

As far as the filming schedule goes, there's nothing out of the ordinary there. It makes sense for ABC to film The Golden Bachelor season 2 during summer 2025 so that it can air in fall 2025, similar to how The Golden Bachelor season 1 aired in fall 2023 and The Golden Bachelorette season 1 in fall 2024. This also confirms the assumption that ABC will trade off the Golden spin-offs every fall.

Our Take On The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Schedule & Casting Call

The Producers Are Trying to Find The Perfect Match

The most fascinating application question I noticed was this: "If you had to choose one guy from the Golden Bachelorette to date…who would it be?" There are a couple of different reasons why producers want to know this. Either they will see which Golden Bachelorette suitor is most popular among the applicants and then try to cast that man as the lead, or they'll make sure to cast women who actually want to date the lead they end up choosing.

Either way, it'll be fascinating to see who becomes the star of The Golden Bachelor season 2. Mark, Pascal and Guy have been talked about a lot. However, Charles Ling has become a fan-favorite and would be a great option to consider as well.
