After initially competing on The Golden Bachelor and leaving earlier than anticipated, Joan Vassos is now the leading lady of The Golden Bachelorette, with several suitors vying for her affection on the popular reality dating show. However, concerns have recently surfaced regarding one of the contestants, Gil Ramirez.

Despite reportedly clearing the background check conducted by the show, an exclusive report from People has uncovered that Ramirez was previously under a temporary restraining order filed by his ex-girlfriend, who made some serious allegations against him.
Alarming Revelations About The Golden Bachelorette Contestant Gil Ramirez
As per People, Ramirez has faced serious allegations from his ex, who had also filed a temporary restraining order against him just days before the production of the show began.
Documents obtained by the outlet state that a woman, who claimed to have been in a relationship with Ramirez, was granted a temporary restraining order due to alleged “harassment — emotional,” which she claimed had lasted for a “two-week period thus far.”
The reports revealed her claims that he allegedly made frequent attempts to contact his ex, her family members, and friends, leading her to seek a domestic violence restraining order.
Despite telling him to not contact me, come to my house — he made repeated unwanted contact with me, family members and friends.
It further states,
25 attempts daily via phone, texts, video. Although lives an hour away — showed up at places I frequent to confront me on a daily basis.
As a result, she requested that Ramirez stay away from her home, workplace, vehicle, and children’s school, and the temporary restraining order was granted the same day.

The restraining order against Gil Ramirez remained in effect till 24 July, due to a delayed hearing, and the woman later “sworn and testifie[d],” and “the case is dismissed without prejudice for lack of prosecution for lack of service.”
Although the temporary restraining order was eventually dropped, questions still linger about how the show overlooked such a problematic contestant during the vetting process.
Sources close to The Golden Bachelorette, however, have stated that the incident occurred in the “brief period between completion of our thorough background investigation and exhaustive vetting process and the beginning of production.”
While the show has further minimized his already limited screen time amid the surfaced allegations, his journey continues, as the 60-year-old educator, recently received a group date rose from Vassos. Reports also suggested that he is also being investigated by his school district and may be at risk of losing his job.
Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old private school administrator, stood out among the contestants on The Golden Bachelor. However, midway through the show, she withdrew due to a family emergency. Now, as she steps into the spotlight once more to lead a spin-off series, concerns are rising about her emotional readiness for the show.
Vassos was married to her late husband for 32 years before losing him to pancreatic cancer, and there are speculations that she may still be grieving, raising doubts about whether reality TV is the right place for her at this time.
