Muhammad Ali is often celebrated as one of the most influential athletes in history. In 1985, he made a memorable appearance as the special guest referee at WrestleMania 1, where Hulk Hogan and Mr. T defeated Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper.

During WrestleMania 40 week this year, The Undertaker inducted Ali into the WWE Hall of Fame. On the podcast Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Phenom admitted that he regretted never having the opportunity to meet the boxing legend in person.

“I had the opportunity to meet Ali once, and I regret not probably doing that, going out of my way, but I didn’t wanna bother him,” The Undertaker said. “It was just the situation didn’t feel like it was the right time to do it. But I wish I had now because I never got another opportunity to meet Ali.”

The Phenom also hit back at those who criticised him for inducting Muhammad Ali into the WWE Hall of Fame.

As heated as he got for his comments about Muhammad Ali, fans were just happy to see The Undertaker at WrestleMania 40. Regardless, The Deadman still regrets never meeting Ali and that’s unlikely to ever change.
