So far, four DWTS season 34 contestants have been announced. They include conservationist Robert Irwin, influencer Alix Earle, and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jennifer Affleck and Whitney Leavitt. DWTS season 33's winner was The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei, along with his professional dance partner, Jenna Johnson, while Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten placed second.
A Twilight heartthrob is rumored to be joining the cast of Dancing With The Stars season 34, and now the record has been set straight about the speculation.
According to Parade, Twilight star Taylor Lautner won't be competing in DWTS season 34, despite rumors to the contrary. For the past several seasons, rumors have been flying that Taylor would join the cast, but a source told Parade that "there is no truth whatsoever" that he's in heavy talks to appear on the reality dance competition series. Parade has reached out to representatives for Taylor and DWTS for comment about the rumors.
Derek previously told Parade that the celebrity he'd most like to see on the show is Taylor. He gushed, "He would be great. He would be fantastic. Competitive, athletic."
Taylor is best known for his role as the Twilight film series' werewolf, Jacob Black. He's also starred in many film and TV roles, including Dr. Cassidy Cascade in Scream Queens.
Taylor is known for being a great dancer, and Derek is right that his athleticism could really help him compete on DWTS. Taylor became a black belt in karate at age 10, and was a four-time world champion by age 14. Taylor also practiced Xtreme Martial Arts. It's disappointing to hear that there's no truth to the rumors that he's joining season 34 because it would've been thrilling to see him compete on the show.
I hope that Taylor joins the cast of a future DWTS season because he'd be perfect for the series. Perhaps this source is just trying to throw people off by saying that he's not competing, and then the show will surprise everyone with an announcement that he is joining the cast. Hopefully, Taylor and Tay will take the DWTS ballroom by storm in the near future.
